I'm not pot stirring. I'm actually confused.
Why are all these coral threads being closed?
They keep saying please be respectful of ALL members when they close perfectly respectful threads?
Are they saying that being offended isn't respectful? Are they refering to our anger about the situation as the thing that isn't being respectful to the people responsable for the article?

All these threads seem to be perfectly respectful to me. It seems that calling us disrespectful for being offended by being disrespected is disrespectful.

I feel disrespected by the article (whose general message of watch out about coral-which I do sell) I totally agree with. Then I feel disrespected by the perfectly civil threads being closed? Is that what isn't being respectful to ALL members of the community?

Be prepared for a lock. Just sayin.

It's because they are referring to the article which was technically written by a member of the community. Since they aren't sunshine and rainbows threads, they are being closed.

Ohhh. So we're being disrespectful of the blogger.
Really?
Well ok.
That's a bit of a stretch.

huh?
anyone have a link they can send me?

I guess that makes sense.

It would have been nice of them to point that out in the threads.
I've been offended about that since last night.

& on another note, should discussing a blog post really be considered calling out? isn't that kind of the point of a blog post?

I don't envy them these internal meetings this spauned.

I hope it doesn't dilute any environmental message that etsy wants to start putting foreward.

I hope they understand that it's the method not the message that we really have a problem with.

Etsy opened that door up themselves! The reaction they got has been warranted. I find it highly offensive to continue closing these threads as if we've all been naughty children and need our hands slapped.

Well,
most of the message. I think our issues have been adaquetly expressed elsewhere.

They use that as a excuse.
We are telling Etsy Corp that something *they* did was inappropriate.
Etsy pretends we were disrespectful to the author, so they can shut down discussion.

It's the same thing how anyone who asks *Etsy* to have less repetition on the FP, is then told they are being disrespectful to the oft-repeated shops, when that totally was not the point.
