I bought the rounded oak catch-all tray because I like the rounded shape and mostly because it is lined with felt that will protect my fountain pens. The tray is of absolute top quality - I cannot find a single flaw in it! Even the felt lining is perfectly cut out and glued in place! The felt is quite firm, though, and not the thick spongy felt mat I expected. Not that it matters in the slightest, though. The outside edges of the wood are ground down at an angle, giving a discreetly softer impression. The bottom even has a cork pad to prevent the tray from slipping and from scratching the desk surface. Oh, and the wooden tray itself is made out of a single block of wood making all the grains of the wood visible from all sides. This is a really great product that I'm very happy to put on display on my desk!
