Mi cuñado trabajaba para periódicos en la época en que la composición tipográfica consistía literalmente en organizar las letras de metal a mano para crear artículos que se utilizarían para imprimir los periódicos. Pasé mucho tiempo con él en esos edificios ruidosos y llenos de tinta y quedé fascinado con el proceso de imprimir y compartir información.

Como adulta, me convertí en educadora de primaria durante 16 años, y hacer hojas de trabajo, actividades y juegos para mis alumnos era una de mis partes favoritas de mi trabajo. Luego, cuando me convertí en abuela y llegó CoVid, quería alguna forma de mantenerme en contacto con mis nietos. Entonces, creé juegos, manualidades y actividades que podíamos hacer juntos en FaceTime o Zoom. Les enviaba por correo electrónico las hojas de trabajo, los patrones de manualidades, las piezas del juego y las instrucciones de las actividades y pasábamos tiempo juntos en el ciberespacio.
Además, para las vacaciones casi siempre invento algún juego para la familia que incluya algún tipo de imprimible.

Luego, cuando despidieron a mi esposo recientemente, y como también nos enfrentamos a la jubilación, decidí intentar convertir mi amor por hacer imprimibles en una fuente de ingresos.

Si bien gran parte de mi trabajo está dirigido a niños, a menudo hago imprimibles para personas en sus trabajos o en sus hogares.

El mundo de los imprimibles es un lugar creativo en el que disfruto nadando.

My brother-in-law worked for newspapers back in the day when typesetting was literally arranging the metal letters by hand to create articles that would be used to print the newspapers. I spent a lot of time with him in those noisy, inky buildings and I became fascinated with the process of printing and sharing information.

As an adult, I became an elementary educator for 16 years, and making worksheets, activities, and games for my students was one of my favorite parts of my job. Then when I became a grandmother and CoVid hit I wanted some way to stay in touch with my grandchildren. So, I created games, crafts, and activities that we could do together on FaceTime or Zoom. I'd email them the worksheets, craft patterns, game pieces, and activity instructions and we'd spend time together in cyberspace.
Also, for holidays I almost always invent a game for the family that includes a printable of some kind.

Then, when my husband got laid off recently, and since we're also facing retirement, I decided to try to turn my love of making printables into a stream of income.

While a lot of my work is geared toward children, I often make printables for people at their jobs or for their homes.

The world of printables is a creative place that I enjoy swimming around in.
