Érase una vez, no hace mucho, me encontré con un video de una señora que estaba imprimiendo cosas tan hermosas en una prensa de platina (pero no lo sabía en ese momento). Por cierto, estaba imprimiendo tipografía. ¡Me sentí inmediatamente intrigado! ¡Sólo tenía que saber lo que estaba haciendo! Sólo tuve que investigar un poco antes de darme cuenta de que ese era el trabajo que había estado buscando. Después de semanas de investigación, presupuestos y búsquedas, encontré mi propia prensa de platina Chandler and Price en Omaha, Nebraska. ¡Fue amor a primera vista! ¡Sabía que esta prensa era para mí! ¡Así nació Cache Letterpress!
Ahora, cómo decidí llamar a mi empresa Cache (kash) Letterpress. Hay un río que comienza en lo alto de los picos de las Montañas Rocosas, desciende por las laderas de la cordillera frontal y serpentea a través de Fort Collins. Este río se llama río Cache la Poudre. A menudo me he sentado a orillas del río Poudre con un almuerzo campestre, pescado en sus profundidades y acampado junto al agua. Quería darles a mi marca y a mis clientes el regalo de la simplicidad del aire de la montaña, el agua cristalina que baila y los pájaros cantando en lo alto. Por lo tanto, tipografía en caché.
Dios creó un mundo hermoso para nosotros como Sus hijos, creo que le encanta vernos disfrutar de Su creación y hacer nuestra parte para mantener viva la belleza. Como periodista y diseñador es un placer poder hacer cosas hermosas y hacer feliz a la gente. He trabajado duro para mejorar mi oficio lo mejor que puedo. Es mi mayor alegría tener el privilegio de trabajar de forma práctica con una máquina tan antigua y una tinta tan sucia.

Mi prensa fue construida aproximadamente en 1906. Pesa alrededor de 1200 libras.
Aslan reside temporalmente en mi garaje, junto con tinta, letras de plomo, muchos espaciadores y mi querido gatito Jetta. Sin embargo, tenemos muchos sueños de tener un estudio real algún día, incluidos, entre otros. . . un viejo vagón de carga. . . una cúpula de cristal. . . una antigua librería. . . La lista podría seguir.

HI. I’M CHERIE - HERE TO BRING YOUR PRINTING DREAMS TO LIFE!
Once upon a time not too long ago I ran across a video of a lady who was printing such beautiful things on a platen press (but I didn’t know that at the time.) incidentally she was letterpress printing. I was immediately intrigued! I just had to know what she was doing! I only had to do a bit of research before I realized that was the job I had been looking for. After weeks of research and budgeting and searching I found my very own Chandler and Price platen press in Omaha, Nebraska. It was love at first sight! I knew this press was for me! So Cache Letterpress was born!
Now, how I decided to name my business Cache (kash) Letterpress. There is a river that begins high in the peaks of the Rocky Mountains, it tumbles down the slopes of the front range and meanders though Fort Collins. This river is named the Cache la Poudre River. I’ve often sat on the banks of the Poudre River with a picnic lunch, fished in its depths and camped by the rushing water. I wanted to give my brand and customers the gift of the simplicity of mountain air, crystal clear dancing water, and birds chirping overhead. Therefore Cache Letterpress.
God created a beautiful world for us as His children, I believe he absolutely loves to see us enjoy His creation and to do our part to keep the beauty alive. As a pressman and a designer it is my pleasure to be able to make beautiful things and make people happy. I’ve worked hard to improve my craft to the best of my knowledge. It is my biggest joy to be privileged enough to work hands-on with such a vintage machine and messy ink.

My press was built in approximately 1906. It weighs about 1,200 pounds.
Aslan temporarily resides in my garage, together with ink, lead type, many spacers and my dear kitty Jetta. However we have many dreams of a real studio someday, including but not limited to. . . an old boxcar. . . a glass dome. . . an old bookstore. . . the list could go on.
