Candles and soap: How Chapter After Chapter started after over a decade of inspiration.
Capítulo tras capítulo comenzó en el sótano de mi casa en 2025, pero la historia comenzó mucho antes de eso.
Hace más de 16 años, estudié Estética y obtuve mi licencia de esteticista. Durante mis estudios, cursamos química y aprendimos a mezclar cosméticos. Soy originaria de Atlanta, Georgia, y ahora vivo en Alemania (donde obtuve mi título y licencia de esteticista). Si bien ya no vendo cosméticos ni ejerzo como esteticista licenciada (debido a mis frecuentes mudanzas y la necesidad de renovar la licencia en cada estado), sigo apasionada por el cuidado de la piel, el bienestar y la idea de relajarse al final de un largo día o una semana difícil.
Aprendí a mezclar y hacer jabón en la escuela; sin embargo, las velas siempre me han hecho sentir que una casa o un apartamento pueden convertirse en un hogar. Un hogar donde cualquiera puede quitarse los zapatos, relajarse y tomar una copa de vino, ver su programa favorito o leer un libro. (Quizás una combinación de estas opciones).
Las citas en los productos surgieron de mi amor por los libros. Tengo una biblioteca de más de 300 libros, el más antiguo del siglo XVIII. Siento que muchos libros antiguos se pasan por alto por una u otra razón, y que encierran sabiduría ancestral (¡aunque a veces también contienen muchas tonterías!). También me encantan las películas clásicas y estoy buscando la manera de incorporarlas a mis productos. Además, aunque ya no soy esteticista titulada, gran parte de mi inspiración proviene de la música y/o las artes de Atlanta, especialmente de la década de 2000. Esto se debe a los muchos años que viví en Atlanta, Georgia, y a mi profundo amor por la música de la zona.

Chapter After Chapter started in the basement of my home in 2025, but the story started long before that.
Over 16 years ago, I went to school for Esthetics and became a licensed Esthetician. During my time in school, we took a course in chemistry and learned how to mix cosmetics. Originally from Atlanta, Georgia and now re-located to Germany (I completed my Esthetics degree and earned an Esthetics License in Atlanta, Georgia.) While I do not sell cosmetics and am no longer a licensed Esthetician - due to moving frequently and the need for a new license in every state - I still love skin care, wellness, and the overall idea making oneself feel relaxed at the end of a long day, or difficult week.
I learned how to mix and make soap in school, however, candles have always been something that made me feel that a house or apartment is capable of turning into a home. A home where anyone can take off their shoes, put their feet up and have a glass of wine, turn on their favorite television show, or read a book. (Maybe a combination of these.)
The quotes on the products came from my love of books. I have a library of over 300 books, with the oldest being from the 1700s. I feel that many of the older books get overlooked for some reason or another, and that there is old wisdom available in these relics (there is sometimes a lot of nonsense, too!) I also absolutely love older movies too and am trying to find a way to incorporate very old movies into my products as well. Also, while I am no longer a licensed esthetician, much of my inspiration comes from Atlanta-based music and/or arts. Especially from the 2000s era. This is from my many years spent in Atlanta, Georgia and my deep love from the music that came from the area.
