How it all started and beyond
Designs of Cyn fue creado por capricho. No aprendí a hacer ganchillo hasta más tarde en la vida, fui autodidacta a través de libros y youtube después de una enfermedad que me impidió mis trabajos normales enseñando a niños autistas y como especialista en vivienda para personas sin hogar.
Realmente no sabía qué hacer con mi vida después de eso. Me centré en mi bienestar y traté de adaptarme a una nueva forma de vida. No puedo decir que fue fácil, realmente no lo fue y la nueva norma era diferente, pero no quería que ese fuera mi enfoque. Me encontré ocupado con la creación, ya que eso es algo que viene fácilmente para mí. Cuando aprendí a hacer ganchillo, pronto se convirtió en una pasión (¿o adicción?) pero entonces, bueno, solo puedes hacer tantos sombreros para personas que conoces!!! Así que aquí es donde todo comienza. Me enteré de Etsy y abrí una tienda, la dejé de lado durante unos años después de no hacer muchas ventas. Luego regresó fresco, se subió a un rollo y se mantuvo en él. ¡Así que aquí es donde estamos hoy!
Mi enfoque está en consonancia con las viejas tradiciones, pero con un toque moderno. Adoro cómo deben haber sido las cosas en el pasado, donde los artesanos ponían tiempo y calidad en su trabajo y comerciaban con sus productos. Es importante para mí tener un trabajo de alta calidad y no me importa pasar un poco más de tiempo para asegurarme de que mis clientes estén contentos. Tengo ideas e ideas sobre ideas, esto me da el lienzo para crear. Estoy muy agradecido por ello. Espero que al visitar la tienda puedas ver mi visión de trascender el tiempo en el oficio y llevar esas habilidades tradicionales a los tiempos modernos. ¡Espero que te inspires y espero que disfrutes de tu experiencia con Designs of Cyn!
Designs of Cyn was created on a whim. I didn't learn to crochet until later on in life, I was self-taught through books and youtube after an illness that kept me from my normal jobs teaching autistic children and as a housing specialist for the homeless.
I really didn't know what to do with my life after that. I became focused on my wellness and tried to adapt to a new way of living. I can't say it was easy, it really wasn't and the new norm was different but I did not want that to be my focus. I found myself keeping busy with creating, since that is something that comes easily for me. When I learned to crochet, it soon became a passion (or addiction?) but then, well, you can only make so many hats for people you know!!! So this is where it all starts. I learned of Etsy and I opened a shop, I put it aside for a few years after not making many sales. Then came back in fresh, got on a roll and kept at it. So here's where we are today!
My focus is in keeping with the old traditions but with a modern twist. I adore how things must have been in the past where artisans put time and quality into their work and traded their wares. It is important to me to have work of high quality and I don't mind spending a little extra time to be sure that my customers are happy ones. I have ideas and ideas upon ideas, this gives me the canvas to create. I am very grateful for that. I hope that in visiting the shop that you are able to see my vision of transcending time in the craft and bringing those traditional skills to modern times.
