Abri minha loja em 2013. Redescobri meu amor pela costura e "reencontrei meu ritmo" nessa área de expressão — daí o nome da minha loja. Meu primeiro porta-joias foi feito pela mãe de uma amiga, muitos e muitos anos atrás. Procurei um molde online para substituí-lo e fiquei agradavelmente surpresa ao encontrar o Porta-Joias de 8 Bolsos da Sew4Home em www.sew4home.com. Fiz algumas alterações e me inspirei nos diversos tecidos de batik para patchwork disponíveis em lojas de artesanato e tecidos locais. Por que batik? Morei na Indonésia por um ano no início dos anos 80 e visitei uma fábrica de batik em Bali. Também encontrei muitos tecidos bonitos e divertidos quando visitava familiares que moravam no Japão, e continuo a me inspirar neles.
Tenho o maior prazer em atender encomendas personalizadas, sejam elas para porta-joias ou outros projetos de costura. No passado, já fiz encomendas de itens como bolsas para andador e aventais, que eu não tinha anunciados. Estou aberta a sugestões.
I am happy to announce the re-opening of my store! I have renewed energy and ideas that I look forward to sharing with you. I opened my shop in 2013. I rekindled my love of sewing and "found my flow" again in that area of expression - hence the name of my shop. My first jewelry pouch was made by a friend's mom many, many years ago. I searched for a pattern online to replace it and was pleasantly surprised to find the 8-Pocket Jewelry Pouch by Sew4Home at www.sew4home.com. I tweaked it a bit and was inspired by the many batik quilting fabrics available at local craft and fabric stores. Why batik? I lived in Indonesia for a year in the early '80's and visited a batik factory on Bali. I also found many fun and beautiful fabrics when visiting family members stationed in Japan that I continue to draw inspiration from.
I am happy to fulfill custom orders for you, whether for jewelry pouches or other sewing projects. In the past, these included items such as walker bags and aprons that I didn't actually carry in my listings. I'm open to ideas.
