Clothing That Delights
Do you have certain childhood memories associated with a favorite shirt or dress? I can't think about being ten years old without remembering my favorite crossword puzzle tee. It was filled in with flattering adjectives describing girls and I always anxiously awaited its return to my closet.
Now that I have six kids of my own, you can be sure that I've witnessed this same love develop between my kids and a special piece of their wardrobe.
Along the way I've spent a fair amount of time in fabric stores--collecting materials for a quilt or another project. I would always notice fun and lively designs in the knit fabric section and think, "I wish someone would turn that into a cute shirt/dress/skirt."
Well, all that wishing didn't produce results so I decided to do something about it. That's how Arcadia Mercantile came to be!
Along with the desire to bring these shirts into existence was another deep desire: not only did I NOT want to make these shirts myself (ha!), but I wanted to have them made right here in the good ol' USA.
When I was looking for manufacturers I really wanted a place that I could set eyes on. I wanted to be able to walk in and see the people who would be making our stuff--and that's what I found.
When it comes to buying clothes for kids I'm a firm believer in quality over quantity. I'm committed to using high quality fabric and expertise construction. I think when you see our shirts you will agree that they are some of the best looking and best made around.
I hope you can pick out a favorite shirt for your child or a child in your life. I hope it's the kind of favorite that makes them anxiously await its return to their closet!
