Direct from PARIS, France! LA CLARIERE INTERIORS- French Country Chic Decorating & Parisian Brocante Treasures.

Hello , My name is Sharon. La Clariere is my Parisian 'Brocante' gallery. Here you will find a selection of French flea market treasures carefully curated for you-
genuine French antiques, rare antique laces, homespun linens & fabrics, French boudoir decor, natural rustic stoneware and brocante pieces, antique haberdashery & sewing supplies, unique and intriguing flea market finds and stunning photography props.
All my antiques are lovingly selected by myself- I never choose a piece unless it is something that touches me personally. I especially love modest pieces of folk art that speak of the past and the daily life of ordinary people- although i do have a penchant for the extravagant.
It is my great privilege and joy to work with beautiful objects and their stories from the past-this gallery is from me to you, i hope you enjoy it.

A bit about me and my 'journey' to La Clarière:
After a career in Paris in Architecture and Interior Design I wanted to 'do my own thing', as they say!
I began hand printing linen and making homewares and children's clothing which I displayed in my workshop and at lovely exhibitions such as 'Les Fetes de Printemps du Chateau de St. Jean de Beauregard'. To decorate my stand i would search for brocante pieces to lend their charm to my display-and I discovered that my clients appreciated my selection- I began flea marketing for other people...during my trips to the Puces de Paris I found vintage fabrics that inspired me and i began to make home linens and soft furnishings with these rare antique textiles.
*
I have always needed the presence of the past. Coming to Paris in my early twenties i discovered that i have the (old) soul of an 'antiquaire'. I get real joy from re-useing and re-purposing the tattered treasures that i unearth in the dusty boxes of our Paris flea markets.

Thank you for reading and for visiting la Clarière- which means- The Place of Light. I hope you enjoy your (virtual) visit and perhaps a real one some day soon!
If you enjoy Instagram i invite you to join me at https://www.instagram.com/laclariere/ for all the news from La Clarière and glimpses of Paris and my French country travels.

Welcome to la Clarière on Etsy! Re-Opening after years of neglect! I've swept away the cobwebs, dusted the shelves and hung a new sign... Little by little the shop is filling with the most charming French brocante from my local Parisian flea markets and carefully crafted homeware from natural linens and vintage fabrics. Happy Visit!

...before opening up to the Whole World, La Clarière began it's life on 8 rue de l'Espérance in the 13th quarter of Paris, France.
My brick and mortar shop is still here to welcome you when you Actually visit Paris!
I've been wandering the flea markets since i made Paris my home (too long ago to tell!) and creating my own boutique was a dream come true...I actually began by hand printing antique linens and sewing soft furnishing with my unique fabrics, i then branched out to designing with vintage fabrics and collecting brocante objects to decorate my shop...Well! everyone wanted to buy the old treasures too, so, now i shop the flea markets with my dear clients in mind. I hope you enjoy the Etsy version of la Clariere Brocante & Handmade Treasures...and perhaps i'll see you one day in my 'real' shop.

I accept payment via PayPal and Etsy Direct Checkout.

I always take time to carefully gift wrap each item, including a card from my store and i enjoy imagining you opening your 'gifts'.
****I Proudly reuse / re-cycle shipping materials wherever possible.****

When considering an order of several articles, please don't hesitate to ask for a price estimate for a custom listing with combined shipping and i will calculate the best possible shipping price, which is usually MUCH cheaper per article.

The greatest part of my International orders are sent Standard Economic Shipping.
This inexpensive service is only available for parcels up to 2kgs in weight.
IMPORTANT****This service does not include tracking OR insurance.
With this standard shipping service, I cannot be held responsible for lost parcels.
(Parcels over 2 kgs must travel Colissimo special delivery, for all internationals parcels outside the european community.)
If you prefer Colissimo shipping- including tracking and insurance-please contact me.
For some countries, such as the Eastern Bloc and India and China, Colissimo is Highly recommended.

I send voluminous fragile parcels in special boxes that i buy from La Poste France- these boxes cost 1.50 euros and are Very strong and give super protection to the articles wrapped inside. The 1.50 euros is included the shipping costs to cover the purchase price of these boxes.

For your shipping address, to eliminate the possibility of a spelling error, I always do a cut and paste from the Etsy Transactions notification and stick that paper onto your parcel.

Most international shipping takes about 2 to 3 weeks. (sometimes much faster!)
Hold ups in customs of the receiving country can prolong that time.

If by any chance your article is damaged upon arrival,(snif!) please take a photo of it, in it's packaging, and send the photo to me and i will refund you the cost of the item. (minus the postal fee)

Thank you for reading all this! It takes time but it's great when everything is clear.
