It is my great privilege and joy to work with beautiful objects and their stories from the past.
I adore the craftsmanship and gentleness of things aged and fashioned with care.
Here you will find a selection of French flea market treasures carefully curated for you- genuine French antiques, rare antique laces, homespun linens & fabrics, French boudoir decor, natural rustic stoneware and brocante pieces, antique haberdashery & sewing supplies, unique and intriguing flea market finds and stunning photography props.
All my antiques are lovingly selected by myself- I never choose a piece unless it is something that touches me personally.
I especially love modest pieces of folk art that speak of the past and the daily life of ordinary people in rural France. (although i do have a penchant for the extravagant ;-)
At La Clarière' I shake the dust and nostalgia off flea market finds to curate unique collections: I hope you will find something you love, something to use in your home or your creative projects, something to cherish, the perfect gift or simply something you can't live without!
This gallery is from me to you, i hope you enjoy it.

Have a wander around and don't hesitate to send me any questions you may have.
I love telling the stories behind each treasure.
Thank you for reading.
*
Due to Covid 19’s impact on world shipping I now automatically include Tracking with international orders- at a cost of 3 euros.
With purchases of two or more items, I combine shipping and refund you any excess shipping cost.

Hello! I'm Sharon, the One-Woman-Band behind La Clarière!
Shop policies
Fascinated by the atmosphere of Paris’s flea markets and their unique (and sometimes madcap) connection to the past, I’ve been wandering ‘brocantes’ since i made Paris my home.
The outstanding beauty that I discover in so many timeless handmade treasures never ceases to touch and inspire me.
I love using these eloquent objects and textiles to create a unique and characterful home.
By choosing to "re-value" these treasures, making the beauty of the past part of our present, we participate in slowing the infernal race of 'progess'.
After all, this conservation is the 'greenest' of all gestures, using no resources and producing no waste.
At La Clarière, vintage textiles are my passion, their gentle presence and fabulous textures enhance our interiors and soothe our daily lives.
My special Love is for the wonderful textures of heavy linens and hemps- fabrics with personality that go especially well in Modern Rustic, Country Chic, or Neo-industrial Interiors.
I am also fascinated by the vast and sublime world of antique laces.
I travel France to learn what i can about this magnificent tradition.

Shipping
I always take time to carefully gift wrap each item, including a card from my store and i enjoy imagining you opening your 'gifts'.
****I Proudly reuse / re-cycle shipping materials wherever possible.****
When considering an order of several articles, please don't hesitate to ask for a price estimate for a custom listing with combined shipping and i will calculate the best possible shipping price, which is usually MUCH cheaper per article.
The greatest part of my International orders are sent Standard Economic Shipping.
This inexpensive service is only available for parcels up to 2kgs in weight.
****IMPORTANT****Due to Covid 19’s impact on shipping I now automatically include TRACKING on international parcels. This service costs 3 euros. If you do NOT want tracking, please let me know and I will adjust the shipping cost for you.
(Parcels over 2 kgs must travel Colissimo special delivery, for all internationals parcels outside the european community.)
If you prefer Colissimo shipping- including tracking and insurance-please contact me.
For some countries, such as the Eastern Bloc and India and China, Colissimo is Highly recommended.
I send voluminous fragile parcels in special boxes that i buy from La Poste France- these boxes cost 1.50 euros and are Very strong and give super protection to the articles wrapped inside. The 1.50 euros is included the shipping costs to cover the purchase price of these boxes.
For your shipping address, to eliminate the possibility of a spelling error, I always do a cut and paste from the Etsy Transactions notification and stick that paper onto your parcel.
Most international shipping takes about 2 to 3 weeks. (sometimes much faster!)
Hold ups in customs of the receiving country can prolong that time.
If by any chance your article is damaged upon arrival,(snif!) please take a photo of it, in it's packaging, and send the photo to me and i will refund you the cost of the item. (minus the postal fee)
Thank you for reading all this! It takes time but it's great when everything is clear.
