Annonce   WELCOME to La Clarière!
La Clariere is a selection of Parisian flea market treasures, thoughtfully curated for you: genuine French antiques, rare antique linens, antique laces and farmhouse fabrics, French country decor, rustic stoneware, vintage haberdashery, unique and intriguing flea market finds & stunning photography props. And 2 budding new sections: The French Chef's Corner and Gardening & Florist's Display Props.
These eclectic brocante treasures mix and match to create your unique French country chic decor.
By choosing to "re-value" these treasures, making the beauty of the past part of our present, we participate in slowing the infernal race of 'progess'. After all, this conservation is the 'greenest' of all gestures, using no resources and producing no waste.
My name is Sharon and it is my delight to offer you 'La Clarière, the Best from Paris's fascinating flea markets!
All my antiques are lovingly selected by myself at my local Parisian flea markets. Vintage textiles are my passion, i'm convinced that their gentle presence and fabulous textures enhance our interiors and our daily lives.
My special Love is for the wonderful textures of heavy linens and hemps- fabrics with personality that go especially well in Modern Rustic, Country Chic, or Neo-industrial Interiors. I am also fascinated by the Vast and sublime world of antique laces. I travel France to learn what i can about this magnificent tradition.
Have a wander around and don't hesitate to ask questions. I love telling the stories behind each treasure.
Thank you, i hope you enjoy your visit :-)

A propos

My Little Shop in Paris! LA CLARIERE INTERIORS- French Country Chic Decorating & Parisian Brocante Treasures.

La Clariere is my textile design studio and vintage decorating gallery.
After a career in Paris in Interior Design I wanted to 'do my own thing', as they say!
I began hand printing linens and making table linens with them which I displayed in my workshop and at lovely exhibitions such as 'Les Fetes de Printemps du Chateau de St. Jean de Beauregard'. To decorate my stand i would search for brocante pieces to lend their charm to my display-and I discovered that my clients appreciated my selection- I began flea marketing for other people...during my trips to the Puces de Paris I found vintage fabrics that inspired me and i began to make home linens and soft furnishings with these lovely treasures.

A few years ago I found and fell in love with this workshop in the friendly and animated quarter of the 'Butte aux Cailles' in the 13th arrondissement of Paris-the only problem was that it had no direct access to the street- visitors had to go through the main door of the building. Last year I designed a real shopfront and by Christmas it was up and painted and La Clarière was officially a dream come true!
Everything I choose for my shop has been an encounter- a 'Coup de Coeur' in French. One can never understand the 'why' of this- It is fascinating.
I especially love modest pieces that speak of the past and the daily life of ordinary people- although i do have a penchant for the extravagant.
I discover that i have the (old) soul of an 'antiquaire' and I get real joy from re-useing and re-purposing the tattered treasures that i unearth in the dusty boxes of our paris flea markets.
Thank you for reading and for visiting la Clarière- which means- The Place of Light.
I hope you enjoy your (virtual) visit and perhaps a real one some day soon!

Welcome to la Clarière on Etsy! Re-Opening after years of neglect! I've swept away the cobwebs, dusted the shelves and hung a new sign... Little by little the shop is filling with the most charming French brocante from my local Parisian flea markets and carefully crafted homeware from natural linens and vintage fabrics. Happy Visit!

...before opening up to the Whole World, La Clarière began it's life on 8 rue de l'Espérance in the 13th quarter of Paris, France.
My brick and mortar shop is still here to welcome you when you Actually visit Paris!
I've been wandering the flea markets since i made Paris my home (too long ago to tell!) and creating my own boutique was a dream come true...I actually began by hand printing antique linens and sewing soft furnishing with my unique fabrics, i then branched out to designing with vintage fabrics and collecting brocante objects to decorate my shop...Well! everyone wanted to buy the old treasures too, so, now i shop the flea markets with my dear clients in mind. I hope you enjoy the Etsy version of la Clariere Brocante & Handmade Treasures...and perhaps i'll see you one day in my 'real' shop.

I do my very best to describe each item; including all their 'faults'- although with Vintage articles it's Often the Faults that give each piece their special character! Please check the photos well and request any extra information including photos, as i Do Not accept returns.
Paiement
I accept payment via PayPal and Etsy Direct Checkout.
If you pay excess shipping i refund the difference upon sending your order.
Expédition
I try to send off packages asap- usually within 3 days of receiving the order.
I always take time to carefully gift wrap each item, including a card from my store and i enjoy imagining you opening your 'gifts'.

When considering an order of several articles, please don't hesitate to ask for a price estimate for a custom listing with combined shipping and i will calculate the best possible shipping price, which is usually MUCH cheaper per article.

The greatest part of my orders are sent Standard Economic Shipping.
This inexpensive service is only available for parcels up to 2kgs in weight.
This service does not include tracking OR insurance.
With this standard shipping service, I cannot be held responsible for lost parcels.
(Parcels over 2 kgs must travel Colissimo special delivery, for all internationals parcels outside the european community.)
If you prefer Colissimo shipping- including tracking and insurance-please contact me.
For some countries, such as the Eastern Bloc and India and China, Colissimo is Highly recommended.

I send voluminous fragile parcels in special boxes that i buy from La Poste France- these boxes cost 1.50 euros and are Very strong and give super protection to the articles wrapped inside. The 1.50 euros is included the shipping costs to cover the purchase price of these boxes.

*Flat articles under 3cm in thickness can be sent via 'Lettre Suivi" which includes tracking to final destination for the following countries:
Germany, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Spain, USA, Finland, Great Britain, Irland, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malaisia, New Zealand, Holland, Poland, Singapour, Sweden, Switzerland.
For all other countries, tracking ends at the french border.

For your shipping address, to eliminate the possibility of a spelling error, I always do a cut and paste from the Etsy Transactions notification and stick that paper onto your parcel.

From a value of 200 euros, parcels will be sent Colissimo which has tracking and insurance and parcels must be signed for- this service costs at least twice as much as standard shipping and is a very secure service. If you perfer standard shipping please contact me.

Most international shipping takes about 10 days to 2 weeks. (sometimes much faster!)
Hold ups in customs of the receiving country can prolong that time.

If by any chance your article is damaged upon arrival,(snif!) please take a photo of it, in it's packaging, and send the photo to me and i will refund you the cost of the item. (minus the postal fee)

Thank you for reading all this! It takes time but it's great when everything is clear.
