About LaCordeBijoux

Sales 407
On Etsy since 2017

After working for several years in the sale of "conventional" jewelry I wanted to create with what I had available, while paying attention to ethics.

* I first had the idea of creating guitar string jewelry to recover the material, these strings so particular, that I constantly saw end up in the trash of my lover who exercises the beautiful job of luthier.
I had to find something to do with it, to give them a second life. It took quite a long time to develop, to find out how to do it, to make my own tools... very often I still discover new ways of doing things, I learn every day (besides do not hesitate if you have the slightest suggestion!).
* Then I thought about the jewels of my jewelry, the values of my small business. Try to recover as much as possible materials, revalue them, and thus create particularly unique and original objects, while remaining in finesse and delicacy.

I order as much as possible supplies made in France or europe (but even today it is sometimes complicated to trace the origin of certain materials).
Orders are more and more numerous and I am now forced to order new ropes or wood for displays very often, but my priority will always be to favor recovery.
New ropes are often made in Germany.
My boxes are created by a small company FunkyPrintStudio, in Bucharest.
The wooden plates are made in my companion's violin making workshop, and cut or laser engraved by Yodix's workshop in Brioude.
Cork comes from Portugal, leather from Italy, and suede from England.

All components of my packaging are recycled, recyclable or compostable. You will find the cardboard shipping box (to be reused for the same function), my business card, a small explanatory note in kraft, a piece of steel wool in some cases to clean your jewelry (the small pockets in which it is used to preserve seeds), tissue paper. The case of the jewel is made of cardboard with a hot print, and in it there is a wooden support to keep obviously, it is an integral part of the product for me.

All orders are made individually and with care, do not hesitate to contact me for a special request. I like to exchange with you, create special commands with your strings, read your feedback.
Thank you for choosing Etsy, thank you for choosing the small creators.

Frequently asked questions
Returns or exchanges

I accept exchanges and returns, do not hesitate to contact me when receiving your jewel if it is not suitable, so that we can find a solution together.

Size information

The sizes given are the official French sizes, those used in jewelry. Thus, if you want to know a US size or other, you just have to find a ring size match table on the internet ;)Take care to order your size, for this it is enough to go to jewelry and ask kindly to know your finger size. This prevents you from making a mistake in the controls, it goes faster for everyone as well!

Does jewelry oxidize?

Silver rings are made of ropes made of stainless steel wire. They will therefore not oxidize.Rings with golden and copper strings oxidize. They are made with guitar strings that are mainly made of bronze (and bronze, it oxidizes!).Depending on the humidity of the environment and the acidity of the skin especially, a ring can leave a gray/blue mark on the finger (which goes with soapy water). For bracelets I work with coated strings, so they have a thin outer film which is a treatment against oxidation. So they do not oxidize.

Care instructions

The jewelry comes with a small piece of steel straw, which will make the strings shiny by rubbing them with it.You can also clean your rings with natural methods, an old toothbrush and toothpaste for example ;)In the lid of the box is glued a small piece of anti-tarnishing sheet. This is the best way to keep your jewelry when you're not wearing it.Do not store your jewelry in bulk with others, or in your bathroom, it may damage it prematurely.
