La Maison Rafacia - African Art Natural ethnic decoration

Our story began in June 2013. I am Beninese form west African, and my mother has always sold African fabric. All these shimmering colors, the sound of scissors and the drape / wrapping of fabric on the body have always fascinated me since. And when my child grown in recent years, I make folds of fabric to create small models of clothing and creative leisure activities with my children. So during our stays in Africa, my big sister Fortune who is seamstress, realizes them to me.
Because I also always wanted to wear what others do not have and not make same with evrery body. I love et defend my African origins. My friends, the others oms, have always admired me in my dresses and other creations. So I had the urge to create my own models and I have them made by my big sister who has her sewing workshop in Benin in West Africa. I work with 100% cotton fabric, mud cloth bogolan fabric, african wax fabric and indigo hand dyed tie and dye fabric and other colors.
In my shop I also wanted to present the ethnic favorite products of African decoration in natural and noble matter. Thus I present you braided African mats woven in rush and raffia as well as objects of art of decoration as the calabash, the wood and the traditional ethnic fabrics indigo traditional and hot colors shimmering African.
I also propose the sculpture and statue of two Abraham brothers craftsmen who work ebony
Finally I wish to participate in the dissemination of African books so that they are better known in the world. For this I present the books of independent publishers in Africa to disseminate their books and allow African publishing houses to continue to exist. The price of books is set by the publishing houses themselves. Finally, if you buy our books, you participate in the distribution of African books and at other times to bibliodiversity
By buying on our shop you buy unique, original and ethnic chic products.
