I obtained the B.E.P. Wood and Associated Materials in 2005 and the Professional Baccalaureate in Building Techniques Study and Economics in 2007. I followed these two courses at the Lycée Professionnel Bernard Chochoy in Lumbres. I continued my studies and validated the Degree in Modern Literature at the University of Artois in Arras in 2014.

As for the rest, although I spent a number of years at the University, I have always retained a taste for wood. It is a warm and sometimes capricious material that must be accepted with its possibilities and constraints. Finding the balance between what wood offers and what you want to achieve from it is the heart of the carpenter's job. That's what makes it so charming.

If I decided to create L'Établi de Clément, it is above all in a desire for personal coherence. I want to practice carpentry while enjoying it and I want to give this project the colors of my personal convictions. It is both a return to my first love, and the creation of a dynamic resolutely turned towards tomorrow. It seems to me that the consumerism that crushed the previous century is fundamentally the opposite of a sustainable way of life. It must end and give way to another way of consuming. The different objects and furniture we use have value. They are the result of work. For my part, it is also a question of accepting this data. L'Établi de Clément is walking towards tomorrow, one foot in the past and its heritage of knowledge and the other foot in the future and the technical and intellectual possibilities it offers. The future, in my opinion, requires taking into account the natural reality of the material and the territory on which I settle. I accept that wood is not as malleable as plastic or metal and I am aware of the urgent need to take into account the footprint that my activity leaves on our planet.

You will understand that I am looking for freedom. This freedom lies in the possibility of linking my profession to my social and environmental concerns. The trust I want to create between the person who will make me work and myself is the key to this freedom.

J’ai obtenu le B.E.P. Bois et Matériaux Associés en 2005 et le Baccalauréat Professionnel Techniques du Bâtiment Étude et Économie en 2007. En ce qui concerne le reste, bien qu’ayant passé un certain nombre d’années à l’Université, j’ai toujours conservé le goût pour le bois. C’est un matériau chaud et parfois capricieux qu’il faut accepter avec ses possibilités et ses contraintes. Trouver l’équilibre entre ce qu’offre le bois et ce que l’on veut en obtenir est le cœur du métier de menuisier. C’est ce qui en fait le charme.

Si j’ai décidé de créer L’Établi de Clément, c’est avant tout dans une volonté de cohérence personnelle. Je souhaite pratiquer la menuiserie en y prenant plaisir et je souhaite donner à ce projet les couleurs de mes convictions personnelles. C’est à la fois un retour à mes premières amours, et la création d’une dynamique résolument tournée vers demain. Il me semble que le consumérisme qui a écrasé le siècle précédent est fondamentalement le contraire d’un mode de vie durable. Il doit prendre fin et laisser la place à une autre manière de consommer. Les différents objets et mobiliers que nous utilisons ont de la valeur. Ils sont le fruit d’un travail. Pour ma part, il s’agit aussi d’accepter cette donnée. L’Établi de Clément marche vers demain, un pied dans le passé et son héritage de savoirs et l’autre pied dans l’avenir et les possibilités techniques et intellectuelles qu’il offre. L’avenir, selon moi, nécessite une prise en compte de la réalité naturelle du matériau et du territoire sur lequel je m’implante. J’accepte que le bois ne soit pas aussi malléable que le plastique ou le métal et j’ai conscience de l’urgente nécessité de prendre en compte l’empreinte que mon activité laisse sur notre planète.

Vous comprendrez que je suis en recherche de liberté. Cette liberté réside dans la possibilité de lier mon métier à mes préoccupations sociales et environnementales. La confiance que je souhaite créer entre la personne qui me fera travailler et moi-même est la clef de cette liberté.
