Nossa, que lindo efeito borboleta! Você já se perguntou como seria sua vida se não tivesse tomado aquela decisão que levou à reação em cadeia que agora é tão central na sua vida? É exatamente assim que me sinto em relação ao macramê.
Imagine só: estamos em 2020, no auge da COVID. Uma garota, entediada em seu apartamento da faculdade, precisava desesperadamente de algo para fazer. Aventurei-me no Hobby Lobby, encontrei um kit faça-você-mesmo para pendurar plantas e pensei em experimentar. Algo em dar nós me pareceu perfeito; foi incrivelmente relaxante, e percebi que eu era realmente boa nisso. Sempre tive um coração criativo, mas nunca encontrei meu verdadeiro meio na arte com fibras até aquele momento.
Meses se passaram e eu continuei fazendo suportes para plantas para presentear amigos e familiares. Por anos, esse hobby permaneceu um dos meus preferidos, sempre em segundo plano. Depois de passar anos trabalhando na área de hospitalidade e, em seguida, pular para um emprego das 9h às 17h na esperança de alcançar a estabilidade que desejava, percebi que nada me satisfaria de verdade até que eu fosse minha própria chefe. Depois de muitas conversas encorajadoras com colegas de trabalho e amigos, decidi me arriscar e vender meu macramê. Comecei, como sempre, vendendo para amigos no Facebook. Depois de vender alguns itens, pensei: "Ok, preciso de um site". A partir daí, tem sido um verdadeiro efeito bola de neve.
Eu sou aquela garota, com o sonho de criar macramê e administrar meu próprio negócio, e sou muito abençoada por estar onde estou hoje. Tenho muito orgulho da minha versão mais jovem por ter dado esse salto e feito coisas desconfortáveis, porque isso me levou aonde estamos hoje: uma artista de macramê em tempo integral.

Picture this: It's 2020, peak COVID. A girl, bored in her college apartment, desperately needed something to do. I ventured to Hobby Lobby, found a DIY plant hanger kit, and thought I'd give it a try. Something about tying the knots just felt right; it was incredibly relaxing, and I realized I was actually good at it. I'd always had a creative heart but never truly found my medium in fiber art until that moment.
Months passed, and I continued making plant hangers as gifts for friends and family. For years, it remained a cherished hobby, always on the back burner. After spending years working in hospitality, then jumping to a 9-to-5 job hoping for the stability I desired, I realized nothing would truly satisfy me until I was my own boss. Following many encouraging chats with coworkers and friends, I decided to take a leap by selling my macrame. It started, as it often does, by selling to friends on Facebook. Once I sold a few items, I thought, 'Okay, I need a website.' From there, it's truly been one big snowball effect.
I'm that girl, with a dream to create macrame and run her own business, and I am so blessed to be where I am today. I'm incredibly proud of my younger self for taking that leap and doing uncomfortable things, because it has led me to where we are today: a full-time macrame artist.
