Ho iniziato a lavorare a maglia quando ero un bambino. Mia madre lavorava sempre all'uncinetto, ma aveva questi ferri da maglia in un secchio con del filato. Ho preso un libro dalla biblioteca e ne sono rimasto affascinato - sì, è uncinetto, ma non l'ho imparato fino a molti anni dopo. Ho fatto maglioni per me stesso e sciarpe, guanti, giocattoli e qualsiasi altra cosa che sembrasse diversa.

Quando mi sono trasferito da solo da adulto, mi sono imbattuto in un negozio di filati nel mio quartiere e presto ho conosciuto i proprietari che mi hanno collegato con alcune lezioni per aiutarmi con la mia tecnica di finitura. Ho finito per fare un sacco di maglieria personalizzata per questo negozio a Winnipeg, in Canada, fino a quando non mi sono sposato e ho messo su famiglia.

Poi intorno al 2005 ho ricominciato a lavorare a maglia e mi sono reso conto che molti progetti richiedevano bordi all'uncinetto, quindi l'ho raccolto e ho cercato i punti di cui avevo bisogno. Ho provato alcune vendite artigianali ma avevo bisogno di diversificare il mio prodotto. Non è stato fino al 2008, quando mia sorella mi ha parlato di Etsy, che ho finalmente fatto il grande passo nelle vendite online. Dopo la mia prima vendita sono stato agganciato 😊

I started knitting when I was a kid. My mom always crocheted but she had these knitting needles in a bucket with some yarn. I got a book from the library and I was hooked - yes that's crocheting but I didn't learn that until many years later. I made sweaters for myself and scarves, mitts, toys and anything else that looked different.

When I moved out on my own as an adult, I stumbled on a yarn shop in my neighbourhood and soon got to know the owners who hooked me up with some classes to help me with my finishing technique. I ended up doing lots of custom knitting for this shop in Winnipeg, Canada until I got married and started a family.

Then around 2005 I started knitting again and realized that a lot of projects required crocheted edges so I picked that up and looked up stitches as I need too. I tried a few craft sales but I needed to diversify my product. It wasn't until 2008 when my sister told me about Etsy that I finally took the plunge into online sales. After my first sale I was hooked 😊
