Master craftsman and true passionate of Art, David Jousselin trained as a gilder in Paris. He then opened a workshop for the restoration of antiques and works of art as gilders in 1990. The establishment was then located just at the foot of the Cathedral of Bayonne, in the south of France, in the heart of the antiques district.

In August 2001, accompanied by his family, he decided to settle in Valencia, Spain. The Master Craftsman then specializes in traditional custom manufacturing and the reissue of many pieces of art such as: pier glass, mirror, frame, canopy in half crown, luxury dog ​​bed, door top, pediment, angel, ornaments and other Louis XVI style woodwork.

The manufacture of trumeaux, pediments, door tops and woodwork are made to measure and in accordance with their Louis XVI period models. However, the realization of these works requires significant technological improvements. For example, the making of trumeau moldings involves the use of a component making them more resistant to shocks. Technological prowess is also brought on different mechanisms, on hygrometry (humidity, dryness) as well as on climatic and thermal aspects (resistance to sea air, air conditioning, heating ...).

Most of the trumeaux, pediments, door tops and woodwork can be made to measure and completely personalized. These works of art are then gilded with leaf and embellished with the color or polychromy of your choice.


WHAT IS A PIPE?

The trumeau is a woodwork, understand made from wood therefore, presenting in the lower part a mirror and in the upper part a carved piece of wood or a painting. It is, in general, gilded with gold leaf and polychrome. It is not uncommon to find a pier glass over a fireplace or more traditionally placed above a chest of drawers. David Jousselin likes to propose the custom-made top of door, wood sculpture executed on a small woodwork and that we generally find above a door as a pediment sometimes positioned above a chest of drawers . The latter is commonly gilded with gold leaf and polychrome. Nowadays, we like to display it on a wall, like a decorative object, like placing a painting. Like the trumeau, it is very interesting to insert a door top in a modern or contemporary decoration.
