unique pieces designer jewelry

Quimper, Brittany

Announcement    These jewels are all unique pieces entirely handmade in my workshop in Fouesnant. I usually start from metal plates (silver or brass), I draw the pattern at the tip to be traced, I drill the places intended to be openwork, then I cut each opening one by one with a bocfil.
Some pieces are engraved with a shop.
I also make metal inlay in ebony, itself worked with strawberry, saw and file.
It was after a BAC in applied arts that I took the path of jewelry, with a CAP in two years full-time, then a BMA in two years in alternation. I then wanted to discover a more instinctive approach to know-how, through internships in Africa; in Togo and Senegal, where I learned to work with ebony.
I noticed trying to express forms from movements themselves from emotions and/or reflections, always strongly inspired by water in general, as well as by the wind. These elements being difficult to tangible and graspable, my unconscious surely desired, through metal and wood jewelry, to materialize them. Melt them, capture them, define them, highlight them, expose them... in matter.
The shapes of my jewelry being rather located between the figurative and the abstract, it often happens that they evoke all kinds of things according to the subjectivity of each, the very one that helps to finalize the jewelry, to give it meaning, both emotionally and physically, in a kind of fusion between the body and the jewelry, and what they convey.
I like to consider jewelry as an integral part of the being who wears it, and imagine that it has the function of highlighting his soul, everything that is invisible and essential in him.
