Someone asked me to make 500 turtles, then I made a shop!
Retr8bit comenzó como Retro 8bit en 2011, donde tomé la idea de crear diseños de cuentas de Hama de otro artista de cuentas. Después de algunas convenciones, exhibiendo y vendiendo mis creaciones desde una caja que llevaba, un amigo diferente me pidió que creara 500 artículos basados en su personaje Mine Turtle (youtube 'asdfmovie'). ¡Solo unos meses después había terminado el pedido y había hecho lo suficiente para financiar la puesta en marcha del negocio!
Luego, en 2012, después de haber terminado mi educación, mi socio y yo comenzamos oficialmente a operar en convenciones como Retr8bit!!
Si bien no puedo afirmar que haya inventado la idea, mi punto de venta único son las creaciones en 3 dimensiones, que van desde pequeños cofres con una cabeza curva (que es increíblemente difícil con cuentas normalmente destinadas a ser planas) hasta el cofre de 17,000 cuentas creado a pedido para una caja de revelación de anillo de compromiso (¡completa con un contenedor de corazón!).

Retr8bit began as Retro 8bit back in 2011 where I picked up the idea of creating Hama bead designs from another bead artist. After a few conventions, going around showcasing and selling my creations from a box I carried around, a different friend asked me to create 500 items based on his Mine Turtle character (youtube 'asdfmovie'). Just a few months later I had finished the order and had made enough to fund the business's start-up!
Then in 2012, after I'd finished my education, myself and my partner officially started trading at conventions as Retr8bit !!
Whilst I can't claim to have invented the idea, my unique selling point is the 3 dimensional creations, ranging from small chests with a curved head (which is incredibly difficult with normally intended-to-be-flat beads) all the way up to the 17,000 bead chest created on request for an engagement ring reveal box (complete with a heart container!).
I am happy to attempt just about anything! All you have to do is ask!
