Ruby Red Paper è iniziato come un pensiero fugace durante un viaggio selvaggio con mio marito sulla costa occidentale. Abbiamo percorso 2000 miglia in circa 2 settimane e mi ha ispirato a fare qualcosa della mia creatività.

Ho notato per la prima volta il movimento fatto a mano mentre visitavo il nostro amico a Seattle. Quando siamo arrivati in California, avevo deciso che questa era la direzione in cui volevo prendere il mio mestiere. Quando abbiamo raggiunto il Colorado, avevo già iniziato a disegnare loghi e fare brainstorming sui miei prodotti. Non è stato fino a quando non ci siamo trasferiti ad Austin un mese dopo che l'azienda è nata davvero.

Da allora si è trasformato da gioielli in resina e noiosamente cuciti a mano in una fantastica collezione di disegni su biglietti di auguri, quaderni, stampe, adesivi e articoli di cancelleria. La carta è la mia unica vera passione creativa.

Trovo ispirazione attraverso libri antichi che hanno le pagine che cadono e battono copertine di dischi che hanno ancora amore da dare. Uso la mia vita come una delle principali fonti di ispirazione per il design, come giocare ai videogiochi da bambino con i miei fratelli e trovare umorismo in quelle cose bizzarre e bizzarre.

Ora ho due meravigliosi ragazzini che amplificano l'energia al quartier generale di Ruby Red. Trovo che posso fare più lavoro durante il pisolino rispetto al resto dell'intera giornata. Ringrazio anche le mie fortunate stelle per il mio incredibilmente talentuoso marito Mike, che gestisce il lato tecnico del business. Indossa molti cappelli a Ruby Red, dalla gestione del nostro e-commerce, alla riparazione della stampante, alla produzione e alla spedizione.

Ruby Red Paper began as a fleeting thought while on a wild road trip with my husband to the West coast. We traveled 2000 miles in about 2 weeks, and it inspired me to make something of my creativity.

I first noticed the handmade movement happening while visiting our friend in Seattle. By the time we made it to California, I had decided this was the direction I wanted to take my craft. When we reached Colorado, I had already started sketching logos and brainstorming my products. It wasn't until we moved to Austin a month later that the company was truly birthed.

Since then it has morphed from resin jewelry and tediously hand-sewn journals to a fantastic collection of designs on greeting cards, notebooks, prints, stickers, and stationery. Paper is my one true creative passion.

I find inspiration through antique books that have the pages falling out, and beat up record covers that still have love left to give. I use my life as a major source for design inspiration, like playing video games as a kid with my brothers and finding humor in those quirky and bizarre things.

I now have two wonderful little boys who amp up the energy at Ruby Red headquarters. I find that I can get more work done during nap time than the rest of the entire day. I also thank my lucky stars for my incredibly talented husband Mike, who runs the technical side of the business. He wears many hats at Ruby Red, from running our e-commerce, printer repair, production, and shipping.
