Ho iniziato a creare i miei vestiti più di 10 anni fa per il desiderio di un guardaroba fatto a mano, non prodotto in serie.
Non volevo più accontentarmi di ciò che era disponibile o imbattermi in qualcuno che indossava il mio stesso vestito. Creare la mia seconda pelle è diventata la mia passione.
Questa passione mi ha portato ad esplorare e praticare molti mestieri, imparando sempre qualcosa di nuovo.
Una volta che indossavo i miei vestiti, sandali e scarpe fatti in casa, la gente ha iniziato a chiedermi se potevo mostrare loro come realizzarli. È così che ho iniziato a scrivere un blog in cui pubblico tutorial sull'artigianato della pelle, la calzoleria, la filatura della lana, l'uncinetto, il ricamo e qualsiasi cosa nuova su cui sto lavorando.
Ci sono pochissime risorse là fuori su come creare le tue calzature, quindi ho scritto un ebook su come realizzare sandali in pelle che vendo dal mio blog da un paio d'anni. Ho appena completato il mio secondo eBook (11/2020) sulla produzione di scarpe e stivali che puoi acquistare nel mio negozio Etsy e sul mio blog.
I started to make my own clothes more than 10 years ago out of a longing for a handmade, not mass-produced wardrobe.
I didn’t want to settle for what was available anymore or bump into someone who wore the same dress as I. Creating my second skin has become my passion.
This passion has led me to explore and practice many crafts, learning something new all the time.
Once I was wearing my homemade clothes, sandals and shoes people started asking me if I could show them how to make them. That's how I got started writing a blog where I post tutorials on leather crafts, shoemaking, spinning wool, crochet, embroidery and whatever new thing I am working on.
There are very few resources out there on how to make your own footwear so I wrote an ebook on how to make leather sandals which I have been selling from my blog for a couple of years. I have just completed my second eBook (11/2020) on shoe and boot making which you can purchase in my Etsy shop and on my blog.
