New Found Love
Sono sempre stata una persona creativa e parsimoniosa, che sono sicuramente geni ereditati da mia madre, Bonnie. Sono cresciuto con la voglia di kit artigianali per regali di compleanno piuttosto che giocattoli o elettronica. Sono una persona che prospera meglio quando ho un "progetto" su cui posso lavorare per portare gioia agli altri o a me stesso nel mio tempo libero. Molto prima ancora di incontrare mio marito, io e mia madre abbiamo sempre detto che quando alla fine sarebbe arrivato il momento, ci saremmo divertiti così tanto a fare decorazioni fatte in casa, bomboniere, ecc. Per il mio futuro matrimonio. Sapevamo che questo sarebbe stato un modo fantastico sia per risparmiare denaro per questa occasione, ma anche per creare così tanti ricordi meravigliosi insieme che lo hanno preceduto.
Quando mi sono fidanzata a dicembre 2019, io e mia mamma abbiamo subito iniziato a preparare molti "progetti" di matrimonio in previsione del mio matrimonio. Molti di questi progetti erano nella nostra nota timoneria, per lo più si occupava di carta e foto, a causa della nostra storia di scrapbooking e creazione di carte insieme fin dalla mia infanzia. Tuttavia, sapevamo anche che volevamo usare fiori artificiali e fare tutti i bouquet, boutonnières, corsages e decorazioni della chiesa per il matrimonio noi stessi. La cosa divertente era... non avevamo mai lavorato con fiori artificiali in questo modo prima!
È qui che ho scoperto il mio "nuovo amore ritrovato". Sorprendentemente (o forse non sorprendentemente), organizzare i fiori artificiali per il mio matrimonio mi è venuto super naturale. Mia madre è stata un enorme supporto e ha offerto molti consigli incredibili. Ma sono rimasto stupito di quanto facilmente sono stato in grado di abbinare i miei colori e le mie preferenze specifiche e creare bellissime composizioni che sembravano praticamente fiori veri! La parte più importante è stata che mi sono reso conto di aver trovato un tipo di mestiere che mi ha portato, personalmente, più gioia di qualsiasi altro che avessi mai fatto.
Solo 6 mesi di matrimonio e mi sono ritrovata davvero a perdere quei momenti di creazione di composizioni floreali fatte in casa. Quindi, grazie all'incoraggiamento e all'ispirazione sia di mia madre che di mio marito, ho deciso di creare questo negozio per condividere questa gioia con gli altri e continuare a fare questo tipo di artigianato per gli altri nel mio tempo libero.
I've always been a creative and thrifty person, which are definitely genes inherited from my mom, Bonnie. I grew up wanting craft kits for birthday presents rather than toys or electronics. I'm someone who thrives best when I have a "project" I can work on to bring joy to others or myself in my spare time. Long before I even met my husband, my mom and I always said that when the time eventually came, we would have so much fun making homemade décor, favors, etc. for my future wedding. We knew that this would be an amazing way to both save money for this occasion, but also make so many wonderful memories together leading up to it.
When I became engaged in December 2019, my mom and I immediately began prepping many wedding "projects" in anticipation of my wedding. A lot of these projects were in our known wheelhouse, mostly dealing with paper and photos, due to our history of scrapbooking and card making together since my childhood. However, we also knew that we wanted to use artificial flowers and make all the bouquets, boutonnières, corsages and church decorations for the wedding ourselves. The funny thing was...we had never worked with artificial flowers in this way before!
This is where I discovered my "new found love." Surprisingly (or maybe un-surprisingly), arranging the artificial flowers for my wedding came super naturally to me. My mom was a huge support and offered a lot of amazing advice. But I was amazed at how easily I was able to match my specific colors and preferences and create beautiful arrangements that looked practically like real flowers! The most important part was that I realized I had found a type of craft that brought me, personally, more joy than any other I had ever made.
Only 6 months into marriage and I have found myself really missing those moments of creating homemade floral arrangements. So, thanks to the encouragement and inspiration from both my mom and my husband, I have decided to create this shop to share this joy with others and continue making this type of craft for others in my spare time.
