This is what created the unique TIPHAINE brand.
After several years of scribbling on the corner of the leaves, overflowing with ideas and desire, it is in 2018 that the brand is really created.
Panties?
It is by looking for panties for me that the idea came, to make products that I really like and that meet my ethical, ecological, qualitative requirements. But we won't stop there... At first, only panties and underpants, then brassières and bodysuits and tomorrow ... Who knows?

Fabric and Upcycling?
What is upcycling already? It is using second-hand objects or materials and revalorizing them by reusing them to make other things.
It was obvious that if I created something, I couldn't do it just any way.
Sensitized for a long time on the subjects of ethical fashion and zero waste, it was necessary to find an alternative to the "classic" fabric. And then it was obvious, my daily life was already filled with second-hand objects and clothes, why not fabrics?
Of course this creates constraints: very small quantity, no reassortment, limit in the choice of patterns and colors. But all this has become a real choice, a real pride. To be able to create beautiful products that have the least possible impact on the environment.
And it also brought a lot, fabrics at low prices which makes it possible to make reduced selling prices. In addition, the fabrics are all bought in solidarity thrift stores (EMMAUS type) which means that the entire price of my fabrics is theirs, so all your purchases participate in the support of a social assistance association (most fabrics are bought with OPEN HANDS – GERZAT – Auvergne).
In panties only the inner leg is not upcycled (the part that touches the vulva). It is made of GOTS certified organic cotton. This label certifies that this fabric is made of organic fiber, that no hazardous substances (heavy metals, solvent, etc.) have been used for its manufacture, that the manufacturing processes are environmentally friendly and that manufacturers undertake to respect and improve the working conditions of their employees.
As for the printed collections, the fabrics are printed in Germany with ecological inks and a printing process that requires only a tiny amount of water unlike conventional methods (200l for 5 meters of conventionally printed fabric against only 5ml for the same amount of fabric at my supplier).
And not to spoil anything, zero waste products such as makeup remover cottons or flat charlottes, are made in fabric scraps.
Of course everything is not yet perfect and there are still plenty of small details that still need to be improved ... It's an everyday questioning!
The body?
Yes, it is the main subject of any fashion designer but it is often forgotten or poorly considered.
Me and my body never felt too much in our place. A little too big, not quite valid... It was therefore important for me that my brand was not a vector of complex in this industry, that it was necessary to show different bodies. Show them as they are, which is why in the photos we never retouch the body of our models (we do not remove cellulite or bead or anything). I try to choose all types of bodies to highlight my creations, but it is true that it is complicated when you are a small brand to have a real budget for your photos, which means that most models are friends / acquaintances, are paid with tea and chocolate, which blocks a little in terms of diversity. But it's a point that I think a lot about and try to develop...

About TIPHAINEunique

Sales 255
On Etsy since 2016

With reasoned fashion as a guideline, TIPHAINE unique is committed to ecological and solidarity thinking by offering underwear, in limited series, handmade in Auvergne.
To assert its values, the brand selects materials that limit the ecological impact such as upcycled fabrics, from solidarity thrift stores, and green printing processes.
In the future TIPHAINE unique tends to free itself from stereotypes and deconstruct beauty standards.
