Video summary: Chaque pétale est formé à chaud avec les outils traditionnels de la fleur de chapellerie française.

Unique, poetic and delicate floral pieces of silk...

The silk flower was particularly fashionable in France at the beginning of the century. It adorned the toilets and hats of the elegant women. Today, between tradition and modernity, I recreate and reinvent with the collections of Vanesse du Chardon the gestures of the "little hands" of the workshops of the time to offer you unique, poetic and delicate flowers.
In my sunny studio in the Drôme, south of the France, it is from my practice as a restorative painter that I am inspired to create these floral pieces. From brushes to needles, a first organza flower hatched in 2015, from the rococo and mischievous universe of Fragonard. I thus discovered my green fingers and it is therefore an entire garden that you have today before your eyes, where new flowers are constantly blooming for my greatest pleasure and, I hope, soon yours!
Mixing traditional and modern tools and materials, I assemble each piece with patience. Textiles, silk or organza, are first dyed before being cut carefully. Each petal or leaf is then colored, as in watercolor, to give it a naturally nuanced hue. Each part of the future flower is precisely shaped by hand: hemmed, embossed, pleated or "twisted" hot, before finding its final shape. Pistils and stamens are made and assembled one by one to form the heart of the flower. The petals are finally assembled and mounted around this heart. The number of petals, their shape and size are specific to each flower species.
From a simple fabric prepared and colored then shaped with patience and care are born in the workshop of Vanesse du Chardondes unique flowers, light and precious. And finally, these treasures will adorn buns or bodices, or will be mounted in jewelry or magical decorations, according to orders and desires.
Some pieces are created in the likeness of nature, with the concern to respect as closely as possible the laws of botany. Others can be more freely inspired by the flora and take an original and whimsical form. This exploration of the fascinating world of the flower is an ever-renewed pleasure and endless inspiration.
If I work according to my personal inspiration, I obviously also love to respond to special requests and personalized orders. Do not hesitate to contact me, to send me reference photos or favorite colors, to share with me your botanical dreams that we will realize together.

It is with passion that I try to offer you always new pieces, and it is with the same passion that I take up the challenges that personalized orders allow me. Do not hesitate to contact me for a particular wish (color, shape, etc.).
