They're fantastic! And when the original pair didn't arrive, the seller very kindly replaced them at no extra charge, along with a surprise pair.

At the fair this past weekend, I was wearing leggings from my Felicianation Ink shop, gloves from The Punk Rock Boutique and spike earrings from this shop!

A propos

Embrace the journey...

Five years ago, I started blogging. I was going through a lot and felt very misunderstood. I was on disability from my cushy government job and I had so much to say, to so many people, that it seemed like the easiest way to reach everyone at once. I had serious mental health issues and was sick of feeling like I needed to hide them. My blog quickly became a mix of deeply personal posts and opinion pieces. I've always had strong convictions, and used my platform to voice them. My creativity was flowing, I started creating my first digital drawings (they were awful, but I loved it!)

What I didn't know when I started blogging, was how therapeutic it would be and how much it would completely change my life! I found myself through that blog, gained closure on many painful subjects and woke the artist in me that had been laying dormant for close to ten years.

Stuck in an abusive relationship, the blog and the wonderful connections I was making through it helped me rebuild my confidence. I started to get better, feel better, but the thought of returning to the corporate world was enough to set off a full blown panic attack. When news came that my position was cut, I took the severance package I was offered and ran.

I decided I was going to be my own boss. I took a class on how to start a business, planning to open a restaurant with my then partner. During that process, our relationship had deteriorated and the abuse had increased. It was becoming clearer by the moment that this was not going to work. I shifted my sights to a business I could operate on my own. I started a shopping and personal assistant business, called The Time Fairy. The shopping part never really took off, but I still help other small businesses with their shops. I do translations, graphics, etc. I also started my own face painting business, something I'd been doing as a sideline for many years but had never thought to pursue more.) I don't know why, I enjoy it so much.) I get paid to paint and make kids happy, what could be better than that?

During my business class, I met a girl who wanted to create jewelry, but was having a hard time finding the equipment necessary for metal work, so one night as I was thinking of her, I started researching other ways to make your own jewelry and discovered polymer clay. It was love at first sight, and I bought some to try the very next day! I just loved working with it, and developed my own jewelry line and launched felicianation.etsy.com in 2013 - giving it the same name I'd given my blog.

I'd been drawing since I was very young, and had always dreamed of seeing my drawings printed on items. I had no clue where to start or how, but one day I discovered drop shipping. I get to draw and design clothing, home decor and other accessories, and my partners print, sew and ship the products. Its a beautiful relationship, and has allowed to realize a dream of being a fashion designer. I launched felicianationink.etsy.com on January 1, 2015 - Get it, ink? I thought I was cute.

In June of 2015, I finally broke free from the abusive relationship that had gone from bad to worse over the years. I took my two boys and ended up in a temporary apartment. It was furnished, so all my furniture was put in storage. When we finally moved to our real apartment, I found out two weeks prior that all of my furniture had disappeared. I ended up with a bunch of old ugly and / or broken furniture they gave me as replacement. I should have fought them, but it had already been quite a rough year and I just wanted to put it all behind me. Thankfully we had all of our personal possessions, so I'll just slowly replace the rest. It really doesn't matter that much to me any more anyway. As long as I have my boys and we are living free of violence, I have everything I need. We're still healing and it's a long process, but we have each other and that's all that matters.

In august of 2016, I opened thepunkrockboutique.etsy.com - home to my crazy punk rock fingerless gloves. Eventually, I'll have hand painted and / or shredded tees and more. It's a great outlet for my penchant for rock / steampunk / goth looks!

So that's me in a nutshell!
