Announcement    11/25 - Happy Holidays! From 11/26 - 12/1 use the coupon code THANKYOU15 for 15% off purchases over $10.

8/30 - As I'm sure many of you are aware, the postal service is experiencing major turmoil at this time. This has caused delays (among other things) on mail of all classes, including Priority. I'm not sure if Etsy has updated their estimated delivery times to reflect the possibility of delays, but please be mindful of such. Support the USPS and their workers when you can, and please be patient. I know everyone is doing the best they can during this stressful time. Thanks!

5/27 - I've made shipping to Canada available again (via USPS First Class International). Unfortunately, there is a price increase to reflect the current rates. At the moment, shipping First Class International, anything over 8oz costs $19.71. I have provided a discount to make shipping to Canada a bit more manageable, with prices starting at $12.50. If you have any questions regarding this, please don't hesitate to ask. Unfortunately, I cannot offer shipping outside the US and Canada at this time. There have been far too many shenanigans and I'd hate for anyone to lose their order. Also, certain countries currently have suspended service, with several others experiencing delays (the US included). Sorry for the inconvenience. I hope that one day soon, we will be able to ship worldwide again without any delays, etc. Please stay safe everyone!

5/13 - I thought I'd give a new update and condense some info so that everyone doesn't have a novel of updates to read. On Friday 5/15, MD is lifting the Stay-At-Home order and non-essential businesses will be allowed to open at 50% capacity. However, as the number of positive COVID-19 cases continue to rise locally, I will continue to operate as if the Stay-At-Home order is still in effect. Meaning, I will continue to make my usual trip to the PO once a week (either on Monday or Tuesday). I am still running errands, etc., for elderly folks (and my mom) who have been advised not to leave their homes at this time. Occasionally, that means I need to venture out to pick up a prescription during the week. If I have outgoing orders that are ready to ship, I will make an additional trip to the PO during that outing. The postal service here still seems to be a bit overwhelmed (and possibly understaffed at the moment) with the increased volume of online ordering. Please be patient and allow 24-48 hours for tracking to be updated once you receive a shipping confirmation. Also, while I am trying my best to maintain my usual work schedule, please note that things are running a bit slower on my end. As previously mentioned, I do run errands, etc., for those who have been advised to stay home during this time. Unfortunately, some days I don't get to work at my own job until the early afternoon due to checking in and tending to their needs. And, sometimes I get interrupted far more than I would like in a day. Please know that I'm doing my best to get orders out the door. (And also, I am human and occasionally need to sleep. Lol.) International shipping is still on hold for the time being. (Please see the note below). I apologize for the inconvenience. If you're reading this far, thanks for taking the time. Your support and patience means the world to me right now. I hope you all are doing well, and please stay safe.

A NOTE ABOUT INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING:

I've put International shipping on hold for the time being. (This does not
affect orders placed prior to 4/21.) Unfortunately, USPS is experiencing
extreme delays, and I've received word about a lot of international orders
getting lost lately. Also, the postal rates have gotten outrageous. Canada, for
example, has increased to nearly $20 for First Class International. I hate to
exclude international customers, so if you have your heart set on an order,
please contact me via Etsy Convo with your request and I will calculate the
shipping cost for you. If you'd still like to place an order, I will set up a reserved
listing. Sorry for the inconvenience. I hope everyone is doing well. Please stay
safe!

Hand-Dyed Sock/Fingering Weight Yarn

Thanks for checking out my shop! I'm Carol, the dyer behind Havirland. I dye in small batches using a variety of techniques. All yarn is dyed using professional grade acid dyes.

I think I have weird tastes, along with a strange sense of humor. I'm a film enthusiast and find that a lot of my inspiration comes from late night B-movie marathons and horror. I'm also fascinated by the colors found in nature and enjoy natural history. I dye yarn that I would want to knit with, and I hope you find something you'd like to work with as well.

Currently dyeing in southern Maryland.

My sweet/pesky feather friend, Dingus McGee, passed away in March (2019), but his memory will always live on as my shop mascot. Fly high sweet McGee.

Shipping
Please see listing details for turnaround times/shipping. Ready-to-ship items usually ship with 3-7 days. Please also see announcements for any covid related updates, etc.

I try to combine orders whenever possible to save on shipping costs for customers. However, sometimes due to the high volume of orders that might not be possible.

I ship to the address on file with Etsy. Please check to make sure that it is correct. If you find any errors with your address on file, please contact me immediately. As a small business, I cannot issue refunds for orders sent to the wrong address.

Orders ship via USPS. In the US, orders under 16oz ship via First Class. Orders over 16oz have to ship Priority. Tracking is included for both First Class and Priority.

International orders are shipped via USPS First Class International. International orders can take up to 5 weeks for delivery, depending on the destination. USPS only guarantees tracking within the US, however, you might be able to continue tracking your order by entering the tracking info into your country's postal service website. I can't guarantee that this will work, but I have had a few customers let me know that they were able to do so.

Please note that I cannot be held responsible for any customs fees, duties, and additional taxes.
Additional policies and FAQs
Care is taken to represent colors as accurately as possible, however please note that all monitors are calibrated differently. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to send me a message via Etsy Convo.

Interested in a colorway that's not currently listed in the shop? Send me a convo/request, most likely I can dye it for you (excluding club/exclusive colorways, of course).
