I was looking for a mug for a friend and found Morris Pottery... I LOVE the artwork and decided to be greedy and get a mug for me, lol! It's beautiful!!! I love the freedom of movement of the horses and their beautiful expressive eyes. This mug is my favorite, I absolutely love it and use it everyday! :D

A propos

Six acres and a dream

It was early in 1983 when we found out a job that Paul was hoping for in a large pottery had fallen through. We were rootless at the time, and Paul had a small patch of land in rural Minnesota, so we decided to move there and start our own pottery.

We had a camper trailer, and built a small Olson fast fire wood kiln from used materials. The next eight or nine years were spent acquiring tools and skills, and travelling to art fairs and festivals, while Paul continued to work for larger production potteries to finance it all.

From 1991 to 2003 we fired using gas for fuel, and glazing the pots with the salt fire process.
Our small operation grew in those years to a small cottage industry with 3 or 4 employees. In order to retain creative control and slow down our lives some, we left the partnership.

Since 2003 all of the work has been a collaboration between Paul and I .

Everything is made here in our East Central Minnesota location. Except for occasional sharing of space in other wood kilns, we use electric kilns to fire the bulk of the work.

In addition to our Pottery, we grow a big garden and raise chickens , rabbits, and sheep. We also play in a dance band "Mad Cow Band"
