The French touch in wooden pens

Fontainebleau, Île-de-France

Announcement    Adding a French touch to pens, seeking for elegance and refinement... I make ballpoint, rollerball and fountain pens in wood, mother-of-pearl, bone, antler or semiprecious stones.
The small series or even single pieces are my usual working scale.
My main technique is hand turning on the lathe, but I also use inlay (a mother-of-pearl dot at the top of the pens is the signature of my workshop), segmenting, collage and sometime sculpture.
My specialties are wooden pens and custom-made fountain pens.

A French touch in pens, showing as wood as possible, with elegance and refinement.

I practise the art of turning a pen from a plain or exceptional piece of wood, in a fluid form, modern or classic, always in search of refinement and elegance. You will not find here pens with bling "gorgeous carved rhodium accent ring" made in a Taiwanese factory by thouthands, but only handmade pens which highlight wood.

My training as a restorer of old musical instruments and my state of mind lead me to love meticulousness. The pens that come out of my workshop always have a very high quality finish (often a bright shiny polish or a natural buffing-and-oiling), carefull collages with flowing lines. I work wood of course, but also antler, mother-of-pearl, turquoise, bone, flower petals and feathers.

I don't decide to sell a pen when I guess it is perfect (I don't think perfection belongs to man), but when I think I cannot make it any better.

In fact, doing my best occupies all my time in the workshop.
