After You Sell an Item

After you make a sale on Etsy, you can find all of the order details in your account under Shop Manager > Orders.

Etsy also sends a notification email to you at the address on file under You > Account settings.

Note: You may want to add transaction@etsy.com to your contacts so these emails don't go to your spam folder.

How Will I Get Paid?

Depending on the payment methods you accept in your shop, your payment will be in your payment account on Etsy, your PayPal account, or will be mailed to the address you have on file in Shop Manager > Finances >Payment settings.

Is the Sold Item Removed From My Shop?

When an item sells out, it's automatically removed from your shop.

If you have more of the item available, you're welcome to renew or copy it to put it back in your shop. 

The listing remains for sale in your shop if you had listed a higher quantity than what sold. Learn more about listing a higher quantity.

How Do I Contact the Buyer?

You can always send the buyer an email or conversation directly through Etsy:

1.) Go to Shop Manager > Orders.

2.) Find the buyer's order and click their name on the top left.

3.) Select Contact to send a new conversation or click their email address to open a new email on your computer.

How Do I Ship and Complete My Order?

Under Shop Manager > Orders, orders you haven't shipped will be under the Open tab. Once you mark an order as shipped, it will move to the Completed tab.

When you click Mark as Shipped, you'll have the option to set the order’s Ship Date and add an optional Note to Buyer, as well as a tracking number and shipping provider for the package. Learn more about marking orders as shipped.

After sending a Shipping Notification, you will not be able to mark the order as Unshipped.

Note: If you're in the US or Canada and have Etsy Payments or PayPal in your shop, you can purchase and print a shipping label directly through Etsy–in the US, USPS or FedEx, and in Canada, Canada Post. This will automatically mark the order as shipped and send a shipping notification to the buyer on the label’s Ship Date.

Reviews From Buyers

A buyer can leave a review for a transaction from your shop. Reviews include a rating of 1 to 5 stars as well as a written message from your buyer. These reviews will be publicly visible in your shop.  

If you accept payments in person, in order to leave a review, a buyer needs to have an account before purchasing from you and they need to provide an email address while checking out.

A buyer also won’t be able to leave a review if they purchase using guest checkout.
