Getting Paid

As a seller on Etsy, it's up to you what payment methods you accept. Learn more about setting up your payment options.

Options for getting paid on Etsy include:

Direct Checkout

Using Direct Checkout allows you to accept multiple payment options including:

  • Credit cards

  • Debit/bank cards

  • Etsy Gift Cards

  • iDEAL payments from buyers in the Netherlands

  • Sofort payments from buyers in Austria and Germany

  • Google Wallet from US Android buyers

  • Apple Pay from US and UK iOS buyers

Direct Checkout is currently available in these countries. When using Direct Checkout, Etsy will deposit funds directly into your bank account.

If you don't have a PayPal account, please contact PayPal directly for assistance.

A Business account is recommended, not a Personal PayPal account.

Check or Money Order

Buyers see your mailing address after purchasing from you when using these options. It's recommended you wait until you receive and clear payment before sending the order.

This means you have another way to accept payment that is not supported on Etsy.

  • Be sure to include information and instructions about this payment method in your listings and Shop Policies. Include specific details like payment deadlines.

  • You can contact your buyer directly using Etsy's on-site messaging system, Conversations, to arrange payment.

  • If you don't receive payment or hear from the buyer in a reasonable amount of time, you can send them a polite reminder.
