Permissions for Third-Party Applications

Etsy has a public API, which is a tool that allows third-party developers to create fun and useful tools for Etsy members. Learn more about API.

Some applications built on Etsy's API can communicate with Etsy if you have granted permission using a tool called OAuth. This allows the application to work with your Etsy account securely, without exposing your password.

Granting and managing permissions

You should never directly provide your Etsy username and password to a third party. If the third-party application uses OAuth and the official Etsy API, you will be directed to Etsy.com to sign in securely and grant permission to the application.

You can manage your permissions by going to You > Account settings > Apps.

To find applications built using Etsy's API, visit the App Gallery.
