Impressions

Impressions give you a better sense of the exposure you're getting from Promoted Listings. Each time your listing is shown as an ad in search results, we record an impression. You aren't charged for any impressions you receive.

Clicks

When a buyer clicks on one of your ads to view your listing, we'll record a click. The number of clicks you receive can give you an idea of how effective and competitive your ads are in search. Each time a buyer clicks on one of your ads, you'll be charged (up to that listing's bid) and we'll deduct these costs from your daily budget. Try comparing the number of impressions to clicks to get a better sense of how well your ads are performing.

Cost

Each time someone clicks one of your ads, the cost of the click will be deducted from your daily budget. This cost is based on a listing's bid amount, and it can vary for each listing. The final cost for a click may also be less than its bid amount.

The total cost of clicks for each day will appear on your bill the following day. This amount will never exceed your daily budget.

When you view the stats for an individual listing, we'll also outline average cost per click (Avg CPC). This is the average amount you spent on clicks for that listing. Use the Average CPC to help decide if you'd like to change your bid or fine-tune your listing.

Try comparing your costs to your impressions, clicks, and revenue to see if you're earning more than what you're spending. From there, you can make adjustments to your promotions.

Revenue

Revenue shows the total sales generated from clicks on your ads. We attribute sales to Promoted Listings when someone clicks on an ad and then buys that item within 30 days, or if they buy a different item from your shop within 24 hours of clicking on your ad.

Promoted Listings shows you which orders make up the revenue you've received from your ads. Your stats also outline which ad was clicked on to get that buyer to your shop.

Understanding which ads drive sales can also help with your promotion strategy. For example, try devoting more of your advertising budget towards items that receive high clicks or resulted in Promoted Listings revenue.

Search Term Analytics

Search term analytics provide a breakdown of words or phrases buyers used to locate your ads on Etsy. You'll see this information for each of your listings from the Promoted Listings dashboard, including the number of impressions associated with each search term.

Note: In order to protect buyer privacy, this data may not be available for listings with limited traffic from your ads.

When viewing your search term analytics, use a broad date range to get a better idea of which terms perform well for your ads. We recommend using the last 30 days to ensure there's enough data to provide analytics.

It takes two days for us to calculate your most recent search term analytics. If you recently turned on Promoted Listings, or you've just started promoting new listings, try checking your search term stats after a few days have passed.
