Mi chiamo Andy e sono la forza creativa dietro questo negozio unico. Il mio viaggio nel mondo dell'artigianato è stato tutt'altro che convenzionale, ma ogni passo ha alimentato la mia passione e affinato le mie capacità, portandomi alla creazione di First Layer Forge.
La mia storia è iniziata come apprendista ingegnere. Anche se mi piacevano gli aspetti di precisione e risoluzione dei problemi dell'ingegneria, mi sono ritrovato a desiderare uno sbocco più creativo. Questo desiderio mi ha portato alla scuola d'arte e sono finito all'Università di Plymouth a studiare Metal Crafts. È stato durante questo periodo che ho scoperto la bellezza e la versatilità della lavorazione dei metalli, dando forma alla mia visione per i progetti futuri.
Tuttavia, la vita ha preso una svolta inaspettata e mi sono avventurato nel regno dell'ingegneria del software, diventando un ingegnere del software QA. È stato qui che ho scoperto la programmazione Python e l'affascinante mondo dei Raspberry Pi. Il mio armeggiare con Raspberry Pi ha suscitato un nuovo interesse: la stampa 3D. Inizialmente ho acquistato una stampante 3D per creare alloggiamenti per i miei progetti, ma quello che era iniziato come un impegno pratico si è rapidamente trasformato in una ricerca appassionata.
Nel momento in cui ho visto prendere vita la mia prima stampa 3D, sono rimasto affascinato. Le infinite possibilità e il potenziale creativo della stampa 3D mi hanno affascinato. Ho iniziato a sperimentare diversi materiali e tecniche, attratto in particolare dai filamenti di seta metallica. Questi filamenti mi hanno permesso di replicare l'aspetto e la sensazione del metallo, fondendo il mio background nella lavorazione del metallo con il mio ritrovato amore per la stampa 3D.
E così è nato First Layer Forge. Noi di First Layer Forge siamo specializzati nella creazione di straordinari oggetti stampati in 3D che imitano l'estetica del metallo. Ogni pezzo è realizzato con meticolosa attenzione ai dettagli, combinando la tecnologia moderna con un tocco artistico. Mentre la nostra passione risiede nei busti con finitura metallica e nelle stampe di animali, creiamo anche altre stampe come giocattoli e soprammobili. Il nostro obiettivo è offrirti articoli unici e di alta qualità che si distinguano e facciano una dichiarazione.

My name is Andy, and I am the creative force behind this unique shop. My journey into the world of craftsmanship has been anything but conventional, but each step has fuelled my passion and honed my skills, leading to the creation of First Layer Forge.
My story began as an apprentice engineer. While I enjoyed the precision and problem-solving aspects of engineering, I found myself yearning for a more creative outlet. This desire led me to art school, and I ended up at Plymouth University studying Metal Crafts. It was during this time that I discovered the beauty and versatility of working with metals, shaping my vision for future projects.
However, life took an unexpected turn, and I ventured into the realm of software engineering, becoming a QA software engineer. It was here that I discovered Python programming and the fascinating world of Raspberry Pi's. My tinkering with Raspberry Pi's sparked a new interest—3D printing. I initially bought a 3D printer to create housings for my projects, but what began as a practical endeavour quickly evolved into a passionate pursuit.
The moment I saw my first 3D print come to life, I was hooked. The endless possibilities and creative potential of 3D printing captivated me. I began experimenting with different materials and techniques, particularly drawn to metallic silk filaments. These filaments allowed me to replicate the look and feel of metal, blending my background in metal craft with my newfound love for 3D printing.
And thus, First Layer Forge was born. At First Layer Forge, we specialize in creating stunning 3D printed items that mimic the aesthetic of metal. Each piece is crafted with meticulous attention to detail, combining modern technology with artistic flair. While our passion lies in the metallic finished busts and animal prints, we also create other prints such as fidget toys and knick-knacks. Our goal is to bring you unique, high-quality items that stand out and make a statement.
