Description

Hand spun wool, hand dyed using natural Moroccan Dyes.
Using dyes sourced in Morocco, derived from mineral or plant extracts. No harsh chemicals have been used in the process.
The wool comes from local farms and is mostly Suffolk or Texel sheep. This wool I send it to a local mill where it is washed and carded.
The dye used in this wool comes from using Turmeric and is dipped separately up to three times consecutively into the dye solution giving the different shades and tones.
I carefully dye the wool and then rinse as thoroughly as possible, I then dry it out in the open air.
I then spin the wool in my studio on our farm. I pick up a handful at a time randomly mixing the colours, spinning two bobbins; I then spin them back together. The whole process takes several hours to produce a hank of wool.
The wool is sold in a 50g hank, if you prefer yards please ask.
The wool is fairly chunky, the knitting needles I would use range from UK size 5 to 12. The wool is also great for crochet and weaving, or just adding a splash of colour to your project.

Hand wash only in tepid water
