Literary Ireland Cushion

This 14" scatter cushion celebrates W.B.Yeats, a famous Irish playwright and poet. Yeats is considered one of the foremost figures of 20th century literature, having won the Nobel Prize for literature in 1923. His poem ' He wishes for the Cloths of Heaven' first published in 1899, is among his most popular poems.

The colours chosen for this cushion are soft grey and a dark aqua-marine which tend to reflect the colours Yeats would have been looking at when he contemplated this poem. They will enhance a broad range of colour schemes, providing sophistication and elegance. This cushion would be suitable for anyone with Irish connections or an interest in Irish literature. It could fit equally well in a gentleman's study, or a family living room.

This cushion features Yeats in his thirties, with the poem coming from his middle period. I have also created a companion cushion celebrating Yeats in his later years with the poem 'When you are old', should a pair of cushions be required.
