A set of Danish style candle holders in teak wood. The set consists of 3 candles and a base holder all in teak wood. The teak wood comes from reclaimed Irish teak wood doors from a old cottages in Ireland. Teak wood is a at risk timber hence the use of old teak wood. Each candle holder has a solid brass insert in the top to hold a standard taper candle. The brass insert inside diameter is 23mm tapering to 19mm to hold the candle. The set comes with a base that can be used to hold the candles securely on a table when lit or the candles can be free standing.
The candles are 25cm tall, 20.5cm tall and 17cm tall. The base holder is 15 cm diameter. The wood is finished with wax polish.
These candle holders make a elegant look to any table at the same time putting a bit of Irish history from the wood onto the table.
Not to mention in our throw away society a little of the past is saved and brought back into use,

A little bit about the making, the wood I receive is normally painted and has various nail holes and wood joint holes, from this i salvage the good useable parts and the non useable goes on my workshop stove in winter so all is used.
The teak is then cut into the candle holder sizes and mounted on my lathe to be turned. Its turned then sanded and coated with sanding sealer, sanded again and then polished with wax polish. Nothing ends up in land fill.
