This listing is for a PDF pattern to knit the bomb. The pattern will be emailed to you within 24 hours of payment.

Also pictured are my other patterns for a Dynamite Bomb and a Molotov Cocktail. See my other listings for these. I like knitting weaponry and this pattern is part of a series I designed of various patterns for knitted artifacts of violence and war. These are all the bombs we need!

The Pattern:
Go off with a bang with this piece of explosive knitting! It is a simple pattern, starting with the bomb itself. This is knitted in the round from the top down, with paired increases, a straight section and then paired decreases. The bomb-top is knitted in a similar way but as a flat disk, then sewn in place. The fuse and sparks are worked in I-cord and then sewn together.

Suitable for an intermediate knitter - includes knitting in the round, decreases and increases.

Finished size:
5”/13cm diameter

Yarn:
The pattern is written for a worsted/aran weight yarn, but gauge is not important – you could use any size yarn. The important thing is to use needles a size smaller than normal. This means the stuffing won’t show through. The gauge this one was worked at is: 20 stitches and 26 rows = 4 inches/10cm, on US Size 7/ 4.5 mm double pointed needles.

Worsted weight yarn in black (60yds/50m), white (6yds/6m), yellow (4yds/4m), orange (4yds/4m) and red (4yds/4m).
I used Lamb’s Pride Worsted in M-05 Onyx, M-10 Cream, M-155 Lemon Drop, M-110 Orange You Glad and M-107 Red Hot Passion.

Other materials:
4.5mm/UK/US Size 7 dpns
Stitch marker
Yarn needle
Stuffing

This pattern is for personal use only, and may not be used to make items for sale.
