Great pattern! I had only been crocheting for about 5 weeks when I saw this pattern and fell in love. I knew I wanted to make it for myself for maternity photos. Unfortunately, the yarn I wanted to use takes a while to get here. I wanted to work on this so badly that I decided to make my daughter a matching cardigan for our photoshoot too! I made the absolute smallest size with a light DK yarn and the F 3.75 mm hook. I did make a ton of mistakes and frogged the entire thing a few times, but I was working late at night (it's my only quiet time) and for the most part with migraines, so I struggled. Once I got over my migraines, this worked up very quickly! All-in-all I'd say that I spent a total of 16 hours working this pattern. I think that this pattern is fairly beginner friendly as the stitches used aren't overly complicated.

For reference: I made the XL/2X size but to match the gauge I had to use a size 8 hook, I assume because my stitches are so tight. I switched to a 6.5 for the sleeves and collar. I also ordered the exact same yarn that the the shop owner used to make it easier on myself. If I could do it again I would probably make the largest size just because I was wanting it a little more oversized. I would consider myself to be more of a beginner than intermediate but I found this pattern to be extremely easy to follow. I especially appreciated having the visual AND written pattern for the middle because I had to flip back and forth between them to figure things out.

I tried using the free pattern but I struggled so I brought this one and it’s so much clearer. The photos are clear and really help with the pattern

Apparently need to rate it to get rid of the notification but I’ve not even come close to finishing the pattern! It’s really good though, I’ve done the back square and I’m working it into a bigger square now, it’s really easy to follow!
