Why Blue Rama?

Why Blue Rama? Rama is my favorite Indian God.
Wherever there’s a union of purity and depth, the colour blue is manifested. The oceans and the sky are seen to be blue. Hence, the colour blue is also called “Aasmani” or sky colour.
Lord Rama is considered to be the human avatar of Vishnu.
The blue colour indicates his all-pervasive nature. Blue is the colour of the infinite sky as well as the infinite ocean on which Lord Rama resides. Lord Rama is frequently shown with a blue skin color.
Lord Rama is also associated with virtue, chivalry and truth. His story includes many tales of heroism. He also protects the weak and innocent against evil. Therefore, Rama is often described as the perfect man and is depicted with blue coloured skin.

Each bracelet and necklace is handcrafted using
Grade “A” gemstones collected from all over the world.
The Charms and Spacer beads I use are Sterling Silver.
I also use Tibetan Silver, Bronze, Copper and Silver Tone base metals.
The beads, charms, coins, bells, and oddities are collected on my travels in Africa, Asia, India, Tibet, Turkey, America and Europe.
The pieces include a variety of coloured gemstones, hand painted antique glass, wooden beads, natural seeds, porcelain beads and Cabochons.

I initially started creating up-cycled necklaces from pieces of old and broken Indian jewellery that I bought from two very old and dear friends in Goa, India. I’ve known these two Maharashti ladies and their families for more than 30 years.
Spending my time traveling in India and collecting beads from all over the world developed my hobby into a passion for beautiful Gemstones and handcrafted Silver Charms.

There is an amazing energy from these gemstones and the designs are individual, stylish and hand crafted with passion and love.
I particularly enjoy commission work and I can source most gemstones if requested.
Thank you to all my friends for their support and encouragement.

Enjoy Namaste
Ken Brydon.
