Van stand-by superheld tot podiumkledingmaker — een ode aan de echte helden van het theater
From Standby Superhero to Stagewear Creator — Celebrating the Real Heroes of Theatre
Het idee voor Callboard Collective ontstond toen ik als standby werkte voor Come From Away – vaak de moeilijkste baan in het theater genoemd. Mijn standby-team en ik wisselden Bitmoji's van onszelf uit in capes. Waarom? Omdat acteurs in de schijnwerpers staan, zijn standbys de onbezongen helden die op elk moment kunnen inspringen. Ik wilde die 'superheldenstatus' op een leuke manier vieren.
Dat speelse idee bleef jarenlang hangen, en uiteindelijk heb ik er een T-shirtontwerp van gemaakt. Dat ene shirt groeide al snel uit tot een hele lijn ter ere van acteurs, creatievelingen, crewleden en superfans die de theatermagie elke dag levend houden. Elk stuk is gemaakt met liefde en respect voor de passie en het harde werk die verhalen op het podium tot leven brengen.

The idea for Callboard Collective began during my time as a standby for Come From Away — often called the hardest job in theatre. My standby team and I used to trade Bitmojis of ourselves wearing capes. Why? Because while actors get the spotlight, standbys are the unsung heroes ready to leap in at a moment’s notice. I wanted a fun way to celebrate that “superhero” status.
That playful idea stuck with me for years, and finally, I turned it into a T-shirt design. That single shirt quickly grew into a whole line celebrating actors, creatives, crew, and superfans who keep the theatre magic alive every day. Each piece is made with love and respect for the passion and hard work that bring stories to life on stage.
