Tive o privilégio de viver em todos os Estados Unidos e internacionalmente. Eu me aventurei da paisagem urbana rústica de Chicago ao deserto estéril e acidentado da Califórnia, as planícies abertas de Oklahoma até o icônico Oceano Pacífico em Monterey, Califórnia. Eu vivi no coração da capital americana e na capital mundial do assassinato, El Salvador. Atualmente estou morando em Assunção, Paraguey, no coração da América do Sul. Em todos os lugares que tive o privilégio de viver me mudou e fortaleceu minha visão artística.
Tenho uma profunda reverência por cada lugar que vivi e experimentei. O que eu descobri é que não importa onde eu more no mundo, o deserto estéril ou atrás das paredes de concreto do lugar mais perigoso do mundo, há beleza por todo o mundo. Minha arte captura a beleza discreta e óbvia da vida cotidiana: os tecidos que cobrem nossos corpos e casas, o grão urbano de uma cidade, e a beleza verde e floral que a encontra através das paredes altas de viver em El Salvador.
I have had the privilege to live all over the United States and internationally. I have ventured from the rustic urban landscape of Chicago to the barren and rugged high desert of California, the open plains of Oklahoma to the iconic Pacific Ocean in Monterey, California. I have lived deep in the heart of the American Capital and in the murder capital of the world, El Salvador. I am currently living in Asunción, Paraguey in the heart of South America. Everywhere I have had the privilege to live has changed me and strengthened my artistic vision.
I have a deep reverence for each place that I have lived and experienced. What I have found is that no matter where I live in the world, the barren high desert or behind the high concrete walls of the most dangerous place in the world, there is beauty all around. My art captures the discrete and obvious beauty of everyday life: the fabrics that drape our bodies and homes, the urban grit of a city, and the green and floral beauty that finds it way through the high walls of living in El Salvador.
