Lots of micro mini books in the making fora restock of mini book earrings. Here they are in the raw stage, without covers…
Wearing the little Ulysses mini book brooch today on the occasion of the centenary of the publication…
The book case is complete. Have added a few mini deco objects on the shelves. It still looks rather empty. So I need to make more books, I guess…

Crafting Is My Happy Place

Now more than ever, crafting has become my happy place. I don't know about you, but the last six months have been pretty tough. The enforced isolation due to the global pandemic has kept us all more indoors than ever. Now, I have always enjoyed pottering around at home with my little projects, but crafting has become much more than that in recent months. When I sit down at my workspace, I switch on my favourite podcast and forget about all the other things that are usually occupying my mind. I am surrounded by beautiful things - colourful scrapbooking cardstock, vintage papers, cheerful washi tapes, pretty tags and ribbons - and inspiration flows. One day I could be working on a new mini book to add to my store, another day I spontaneously feel the urge to create a new junk journal. When the inspiration comes, I just let it flow and do what ever feels best that day. And if I have the luxury of being undisturbed for an afternoon, I get the greatest gratification of all - a finished, hand-made object, ready to use or to offer for sale in my store.
For me, the journey is actually the destination. It's the creative process that makes me happy - although I do love the finished objects I have created. But I have no problem letting go of those objects; I love the always-different and ever-changing process of creating. It's more than a hobby or a job, it's an expression of self. Being able to sell the items, is the icing on the cake because I love the idea that someone else might appreciate the object I have created. It makes me happy.

Creativity has always been part of my life. No surprise then that I eventually scrapped my first career as a teacher to become a writer and a photographer. Serial crafter from a young age, my favourite material to work with is - everything.

Frequently asked questions
Care instructions

All paper-made items are fragile in the sense that they should not be worn outside or in wet conditions as ink may run or pages may disintegrate.

Custom and personalised orders

If you have a particular book you would like as a mini book pin/brooch or as a pair of earring, please get in touch with me. I may be able to create a custom order for you, as long as the book in question is a classic that is out of copyright. For newer titles, I may be able to custom-design a cover for you, though. We can discuss particulars via messages.

Gift wrapping and packaging

All mini books are packaged in my own hand-made, unique presentation pockets that contain a hand-written thank you from me as well as the Etsy invoice. For items that are requested as gift-wrapped, the invoice is replaced with an Etsy acknowledgment that does not contain the purchase price of the item. You can also request a message to be hand-written by me on a tag that will accompany the presentation pocket.
All items are packaged carefully - either in bubble or hard-backed envelopes or cardboard boxes - to avoid damage in transit. Journals and paper packets are packaged in plastic pouches to protect against water damage.
