It all started with a Griswold no.5 large logo skillet.... Walking through a flea market in NJ I saw a skillet that caught my eye. I was impressed by its smoothness, lightness and quality.
At this moment in time I had never even heard of a Griswold. I asked the seller "How much for the pan?" I was fully expecting him to say $5, maybe $10. He said, "$60, that's a Griswold." I asked him, "What makes Griswold's so special?" He obliged.
This is where my passion for finding, restoring, collecting and rehoming cast iron started. Since that hot July day several years ago, I have personally restored over 2000 pieces of cast iron. I like to think that saving pieces of culinary history has become part of my identity at this point. It's definitely a unique way to make a living I guess...
I am very proud to offer high quality restored pieces at affordable prices. While some of the other cast iron sellers on Etsy gouge, I make a conscious effort to do the opposite. My personal philosophy is, sell at an affordable price and let as many people as possible enjoy cooking with confidence!
