✿-----Caring for leather gloves
There’s a good chance that whatever you throw at your leather, it can take and then some more. This isn’t an excuse to abuse your leather gloves, however. If you want your trusty handwear to stand the test of time, you need to practice proper leather glove care.
If your gloves get wet, allow them to dry naturally and away from any external heat source, such as a radiator, hair dryer, or the sun.
Leather gloves are worn during cold weather temperatures, keeping the hands warm and protected. Leather is typically expensive, so when you have a pair of these gloves, you want to keep them clean and looking like new. Using harsh cleaning products discolors and damages the leather; instead, use mild cleaners specially designed for use on leather.
Clean your leather gloves regularly.
Step 1
Wipe the gloves with a dry cleaning rag every couple of weeks, or use a damp rag if you notice any sticky residue.
Step 2
Flip the gloves inside out to clean the insides of the gloves, wipe down with a damp rag and allow to air dry before turning the gloves right-side out.
Step 3
Spray a mist of leather cleaner and conditioner onto a cleaning rag and rub this into the leather gloves. This product is available at leather shops as well as many shoe stores. The combination of cleaner and conditioner gets rid of any residue while restoring the necessary moisture to the gloves.
Step 4
Store the gloves in a drawer or similar enclosed area when not in use, to prevent damage to the gloves. This also reduces dust and dirt buildup.
