This pair of hand painted, handmade filigree purple beaded earrings are a combination of several things I love most about jewelry making. They have a subtle Victorian feel about them and I often use this style of lacy filigree fan-shaped bead caps in my creations. They are so versatile because they can stand alone as the focal point or can be tinted, painted, enameled or otherwise enhanced to make your idea a lovely reality. They are approx. 1 inch by 1 inch and are very lightweight.

The 8 MM beads are Lucite and were permanently colored to be perfect complement to the metal hand painted filigree fan shaped mountings. If you look at the enlarged photo #2, you'll see the leaf shaped cut outs in the metal beads have been carefully cold enameled in a lovely shade of purple to highlight the delicate nature of the design.

The bottom purple beads are snuggled into double leaf-shaped antiqued bronze colored bead caps. A second purple bead is stacked on top of this one and is secured to the filigree basket. The entire basket moves independently from the two purple beads that dangle from the ear wires.
