“Art is not what you see, but what you make others see”. Edgar Degas
Creating art is about creating an image from a vision. It is also about choosing a medium that best represents that image. For me, fabric and fiber have always been my tools of choice. At age seven, I sewed doll clothes with my mother, and learned to knit. At age fourteen, I made my first chiffon formal dress because I couldn’t find one ready made that I liked. From there to art school, to learning to weave while living in Australia. Thence, owning and operating a handwoven fabric business in Pennsylvania for thirty years. Along the way, came two daughters and four grandchildren, a masters degree in Art Therapy, and a move to Naples Florida. The obsession with color and fabric never stopped, and has led to the most meaningful creative period of my life with the design and construction of art quilts. I hope each one brings you as much pleasure as I’ve had in its creation.
