Launching FavoredLoop
A sister in my church taught me to crochet when I was about 10 years old. After years of wishing, I finally learned to knit about 8 years ago, thanks to patience of a fabulous woman who owned my local yarn shop in Brooklyn. Now I’m a constant knitter and yarn addict. Always something on my needles, and always in search of new yarn spots – especially those owned by women or people of color. AND there are some fabulous BIPOC women dyers out there!
Whenever I travel, I make sure to find the local yarn store! Paris, Athens, Tel Aviv … and cities all over the US. Knitting with those travel-sourced yarns reminds me of the joy of that trip and that joy is woven into the fabric I create with my needles.
I knit for peace. I knit for beauty. I knit as a meditation. I knit as prayer. Knitting reminds me of our God-given ability to create and bring things into being.
My friends and family encouraged me to sell my handknits after years of seeing pictures online or receiving them as gifts. So I finally took the plunge and FavoredLoop was born!
Welcome!
