INTRODUCTION
This Privacy Policy describes how and when we collect, use, and share information when you purchase an item from Kill Switch Lab™, contact us, or otherwise use our services through Etsy.com or its related sites and services.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of third parties that we do not own or control, including Etsy or any third party services you access through Etsy. You can reference the Etsy Privacy Policy at etsy.com/legal/privacy to learn more about its privacy practices.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
To fulfil your order, you must provide us with certain information (which you authorized Etsy to provide to us), such as your name, email address, postal address, payment information, and the details of the product that you are ordering. You may also choose to provide us with additional personal information if you contact us directly — for example, if you message us about a sizing question or an order issue.
Specifically, we collect:
- Your name and shipping address — to fulfil and ship your order via Printify
- Your email address — to send order confirmation and shipping updates
- Payment information — handled entirely by Etsy and Stripe; we never see your payment card details
- Your Etsy username and messages — when you contact us through Etsy Messages
- Order details — the specific product, size, color, and quantity you purchased
- Any additional information you voluntarily provide in a message to us
We only collect what we need to process and ship your order. We never collect your payment card number. We never collect sensitive data such as your health information, government ID, or social security number.
---
2. WHY WE NEED YOUR INFORMATION AND HOW WE USE IT
We rely on a number of legal bases to collect, use, and share your information, including:
- As needed to provide our services, such as when we use your information to fulfil your order, to settle disputes, or to provide customer support;
- When you have provided your affirmative consent, which you may revoke at any time, such as by signing up for our mailing list. Note: we do not currently operate a mailing list. If we launch one in future, we will request your explicit opt-in consent;
- If necessary to comply with a legal obligation or court order or in connection with a legal claim, such as retaining information about your purchases if required by tax law. As a Washington State business we retain financial records for a minimum of 7 years as required by the IRS and Washington State Department of Revenue;
- As necessary for the purpose of our legitimate interests, if those legitimate interests are not overridden by your rights or interests, such as:
(a) Providing and improving our services. We use your information to provide the services you requested and in our legitimate interest to improve our products and customer experience; and
(b) Compliance with the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use. We use your information as necessary to comply with our obligations under the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use.
We do not use your information to target you with advertisements. We do not add you to any marketing list without your explicit opt-in consent.
---
3. INFORMATION SHARING AND DISCLOSURE
Information about our customers is important to our business. We share your personal information for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:
Etsy. We share information with Etsy as necessary to provide you our services and comply with our obligations under both the Etsy Seller Policy and Etsy Terms of Use.
Service providers. We engage certain trusted third parties to perform functions and provide services to our shop, including:
- Printify — our print-on-demand fulfillment partner. We share your name and shipping address with Printify so they can print and ship your order. Printify passes your shipping address to the relevant shipping carrier (such as USPS or FedEx). See Printify's privacy policy at printify.com/privacy-policy.
- Stripe — payment processing. Stripe processes all financial transactions. We share transaction data with Stripe as required to process your payment. We never handle or store your payment card details ourselves. See Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
- Google Cloud / Workspace — we may use Google Cloud services to store business data including order records. Google Cloud complies with GDPR Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers of EU personal data. See Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
Business transfers. If we sell or merge our business, we may disclose your information as part of that transaction, only to the extent permitted by law.
Compliance with laws. We may collect, use, retain, and share your information if we have a good faith belief that it is reasonably necessary to: (a) respond to legal process or to government requests; (b) enforce our agreements, terms, and policies; (c) prevent, investigate, and address fraud and other illegal activity, security, or technical issues; or (d) protect the rights, property, and safety of our customers or others.
We do not sell your personal information to advertisers or data brokers. Ever.
---
4. DATA RETENTION
We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with our services and as described in this Privacy Policy. However, we may also be required to retain this information to comply with our legal and regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements.
We generally keep your data for the following time periods:
- Order records (name, address, items purchased): 7 years — required by US tax law and IRS requirements
- Customer messages and correspondence: 3 years — for customer service and dispute resolution
- Payment transaction records: 7 years — held by Etsy and Stripe under their own policies
- Email correspondence: 3 years — business records and dispute resolution
- Marketing consent records (if applicable): until consent is withdrawn plus 1 year — GDPR compliance
When data is no longer required we will delete it securely or anonymize it so it can no longer be linked to you personally.

6. YOUR RIGHTS
If you reside in certain territories, including the EU and the United Kingdom, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal information. While some of these rights apply generally, certain rights apply only in certain limited cases. We describe these rights below:
Access. You may have the right to access and receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you by contacting us using the contact information below.
Change, restrict, delete. You may also have rights to change, restrict our use of, or delete your personal information. Absent exceptional circumstances (like where we are required to store data for legal reasons) we will generally delete your personal information upon request.
Object. You can object to (i) our processing of some of your information based on our legitimate interests and (ii) receiving marketing messages from us after providing your express consent to receive them. In such cases, we will delete your personal information unless we have compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using that information or if it is needed for legal reasons.
Data portability. Where we process your personal information on the basis of your consent or for the performance of a contract, you have the right to request that we provide your personal information to you in a portable format.
Withdraw consent. Where we process your personal information on the basis of your consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
Complain. If you reside in the EU or UK and wish to raise a concern about our use of your information (and without prejudice to any other rights you may have), you have the right to do so with your local data protection authority. A list of EU data protection authorities can be found at edpb.europa.eu. UK residents may contact the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
