First, I have to admit, my love for Ladino language began in 2018 while I was looking for an exciting present for my father 70's birthday.
My dear dad has lost his mother when he was 8 years old. In his childhood, he had to wander between one aunt to another. From Kefar Sold in the north to Kibutz Be'ri in the south throw Florentin, Tel-Aviv.
The only thing that helped him to connect with the different people was the Ladino language.
He told me, that his favourite aunti used to say to him “Yakovale, kuanto vales? Una nave de portokales”.
So I designed for him this saying on a greeting card attached to a huge basket of fresh oranges.
I loved the tear on his smiling face when I gave him that present.
As I was sure that every Jewish Ladino speaker would like some daily accessories that will remind him or her the forgotten moments in Ladino.
That is when I decided to focus on providing this option towards everyone who wants to feel that special emotion. And opened a business for all Ladino lovers.
