Why I Began My Online Business
Thank you for visiting my store front! Stator Graphics is a streetwear brand that offers casual apparel and other goods that reflect your beliefs, make a statement, and remain relevant beyond current apparel trends.
So, what is a stator? In a definition it’s “one who stands” a “fixed part forming the pivot or housing for a revolving part.” In the words of Mahatma Gandhi, “If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change.” I wanted to design apparel and other goods that were beautiful to look at, encouraged contemplation, brought attention to on-going social issues, and generated a conversation. Being part of the LGBTQIA+ faith community, I wanted to design wearable art that affirmed and celebrated us.
As soon as you start sifting through your search results on Etsy, you're bound to see multiple versions of the same graphics or slogan especially on t-shirts. I'm not interested in earning sales that way. Before I design a product, I conduct my own Etsy search to make sure I haven't co-opted another seller's idea. So please know the t-shirt, sticker, or button you're buying is uniquely designed by me. Some design elements are the same across my products specifically the progressive rainbow colors bars. The exception being the "Fearfully and Wonderfully Made" color circle. Each item's listing details tells the story of the how and why that design came about.
My shirts are printed using the Direct-to-Garment (DTG) printing method. The DTG method is a process "by which a digital image is printed directly onto the apparel using cutting edge printing technology and inks" to create a vibrant print. By using this method, I can print designs with either distinct lines of color or a shade of colors blended together such as displayed in the "Fearfully and Wonderfully Made" rainbow circle tee at one time. As opposed to silk screening which requires each color being added to the design separately. I have purchased samples from several DTG providers of my t-shirt and button designs to see which company produces crisp lines and vibrant colors consistently. Currently, I use Monster Digital and Awkward Styles for t-shirt printing and Spoke Custom Products for buttons with the caveat that orders can be routed to other print providers closer to the customer. This feature is especially helpful for my customer's overseas.
However, nothing is worse than buyer's remorse, right? I really do want you to be happy with your purchase. I get it, it can be hard trusting a product you haven't seen and held in your hands. Which is why I do offer refunds should an item arrive damaged or just looks funky. Just send a photo of the damage to: statorgraphics [!at] gmail.com and I'll take care of it. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns you may have regarding the ordering process. I'm happy to help!
With all that said, please know your purchase supports an LGBTQIA+, woman-owned business, and I thank you for your patronage.
