Influences

Tribal influences are laced within my work. When my mother was a girl, she had an Apache foster sister. Her foster sister's grandmother made loom beaded jewelry for my mother's parents. When I was little, my mother pulled out the jewelry to show me. I remember the vivid colors and intricate patterns of the seed beads. The jewelry enchanted me and my love for geometric tribal jewelry began.

Another tribal influence is the desert. I have lived in the desert almost my whole life. My favorite time of day here is early in the morning; a walk through the sand in the crisp air with the fresh smell of creosote as the sun is rising is an inspiring experience.

I grew up and still live in the desert of Southern California. I love to create and am always drawn to the color green. My work space is a simple area filled with thousands of seed beads, 3 looms & littered with the toys of my two young daughters.
