Es scheint, dass ich mein ganzes Leben lang Kostüme gebaut habe. Das habe ich viele Jahre lang getan - ich habe Kostüme für Tanzprogramme und Theaterstücke entworfen und gemacht, bis mein Mann in Rente ging und dorthin reisen wollte, wohin uns ein Wohnmobil bringen würde. Also haben wir es getan. Ich zog mich auch zurück, fand einen Platz für die Nähmaschine und den Nähbedarf im Wohnmobil und wir machten uns mit dem Hund auf den Weg, um dieses großartige Land von uns zu bereisen. Meine Hände waren nie untätig. Der Mann fuhr und ich nähte. Ich nähte meistens Urlaubsartikel oder Kleinigkeiten, die ich Freunden und Familie, die wir unterwegs besuchten, als Geschenke gab. Als wir nach vielen Jahren des R-V-Lebens endlich nach Hause zurückkehrten, brauchte ich immer noch etwas, das mich beschäftigte. Ich erfuhr von ETSY und beschloss, Kinderkostüme zu machen. Neun Jahre später habe ich immer noch Spaß - ich sitze immer noch an der Nähmaschine und entscheide, wohin dieses Stück Spitze gehen wird, oder möchte ich Bänder verwenden - wie möchte ich dieses Kleidungsstück schließen - passende Knöpfe, unpassende Knöpfe, Krawatten oder Frösche?
Ich versuche immer, mit den Kindern im Hinterkopf zu entwerfen und was der einfachste Weg für sie wäre, ihre Kostüme zu genießen.

It seems I have been building costumes all my life. That is what I did for many years--I designed and made costumes for dance programs and plays up until my husband retired and wanted to travel where ever a motor home would take us. So-we did. I retired also, found a place for the sewing machine and sewing supplies in the motor home and we were off with the dog to travel this great country of ours. My hands were never idle. The hubby drove and I sewed. I mostly sewed holiday items or little things that I gave as gifts to friends and family we visited on the way. When we finally returned home after many years of the R V life--I still needed somethings to keep me busy. I found out about ETSY and decided I would make Children's costumes. Nine years later I am still having fun- still sitting at the sewing machine and deciding where this piece of lace will go, or do I want to use ribbons--how do I want to close this garment--matching buttons, unmatched buttons, ties or frogs?
I always try to design with the kids in mind and what would be the easiest way for them to enjoy their costumes.
